Well according to my wife my truck is officially old. This morning on her way to work a gen 2 raptor went past her at a round-about.
She claimed the rear-end of the vehicle looked "sweet" and no she's not for me getting one. No love loss here I'm happy with my old junker gen 1.
Just thought I'd pass the sighting along...

Ya I told her that haha, but she's not one to lie and knows her raptors all to well. Either way hopefully this cat is local and I'll get a look at it in the next few days. If so I'll get a photo up. It was white according to her for what it's worth.

I love our Gen 1... It's all good! I still want the new one, though. I should be going to SEMA this year and hopefully get to see it in person.

Gen1 isn't old. It's a classic. It'll always turn heads, in my opinion it's more distinctive than the new ones because it looks so much different from its F150 counterparts. The new one carries a lot more family resemblance

Oh and where was this?

It's so easy to get people to defend the honor of the Gen2 it's insane. :ROFLJest:

And it's just as easy to get gen1 guys in nut swinger mode also.

So how is the gen2 more like the regular f150s than the gen1 is?

I'd say they are pretty close to equal in terms of resemblance of the f-150 - err that is what the frickin truck is based off of, duh. When I see a gen1 I know its a raptor just as I will when I see other gen2 raptors, but I know vehicles so...I could see your me-maw telling you there was an f-150, but it had bigger tires on it and was bigger overall looking, but anyone who knows anything about vehicles will easily identify and know. And if not, who gives damn?!
The new truck looks bad-ass

I completely agree with this observation. I can see people (non enthusiasts) confusing a 2016/17 F150 with a Raptor. Gen1's are very distinct looking, massive, and aggressive... having said that I can't wait to get my Gen2!
