Gen 2 SCAB makeover…totally not ripping off Geoff’s 2.5 build!

I'm just thinking stock replacements. Mine are worn, and likely the source of some of the tapping noise I could hear with the hood open.

Not super excited about dropping another $600 or so on this project for new stock cams, let alone $6K for the ones from a GT, LoL, when I’m already where I want to be power-wise. But if I’m gonna do it, now’s the time.

Are you going to replace the bushings that holds the front axle with “R” ones like Geoff discussed? Page 21 on his build
I think you mean the front diff housing bushings… the green ones used in the R, correct?

Edit: like these Geoff put in his truck (pic ripped off from his thread, LoL):

Wasn’t planning on it, but there will never be a better time than right now I suppose. Of course I should have done it before filling the diff with new gear oil! LoL

@full-race geoff I assume you had to press those in. Any chance it can be done with C-clamps and big ass sockets?

In my case, if Harbor freight’s icon ball joint tool can effortlessly push the joints out of the lower aluminum control arm, and the upper steel control arm, I’m pretty sure it can knock those out just as easily.

Not much of an update, but got the cab temporarily dropped back onto the frame to free up the lift for the next 2-3 months while I’m waiting for the block to be rebuilt.

Pain in the ass doing that solo, with the tiny little moves back and forth to re-align the frame and cab mounts.

Still ordering parts, and pretty sure I’m gonna assemble the long block myself right now… we’ll see.

Will update once I have any developments on the engine rebuild.
