Ok, I have an update. After a few weeks at the local Ford dealer they found that the actuators were not responding and the valves were wide open. That is so loud a 67 Shelby sounds like a Hot Wheel by comparison. Ford just released a software update and the valves are now opening and closing per spec. With this now working, it sounds amazing. On quiet the exhaust is quieter than our Yukon. On Baja it sounds like a P51. And you have a couple of nice options on Normal and Sport. I absolutely would recommend the Borla system. If your truck actuators aren’t working, have your dealer update the software. Thanks for all the posts.

The dealer updated the Borla actuators with software? My stock system has been replaced twice and it still rattles. I'm looking at replacing it out of frustration with Ford's system.

The only aftermarket actuators are on the awe system. A aftermarket ompany needs to make a better product

The Borla Stype uses the Ford actuators to turn their valves. So my issue was that the actuators stopped working from Ford. Ford has a new software release that fixed the actuators not responding.

My initial issue was the cold start rattle, which sounds like a nickel in a beer can for the first few seconds. Both Ford dealers I visited tried to fix it but the issue is so common Ford doesn’t have a fix. The Borla exhaust, using the Ford actuators fixes the rattle. So if you don’t want a rattle, go with either the Borla or AWE exhaust. I went with the Borla because another forum member had an issue with the AWE and returned the entire exhaust because of a weird noise. I love the Borla Type S.
