The Raptor kind of chose me. I had an 11' fx4 and it was too long for my garage in my new house. Sold it and got a 957 Cayenne turbo because I always thought they were cool. Got addicted to having some horsepower, but missed having a truck after about 6 months. What truck could I get that was shorter than the 11' and had pretty decent power from the factory? Started looking around and happened to watch the episode of The Grand Tour where Jeremy drove the blue raptor scab up the mountain. Sold. Picked one up and it's perfect. Fits in the garage.. scoots along for a big truck.. doesnt notice any potholes in the city and don't have to slow down for a train track.. nice enough for date night.. handles any bit of off-roading I happen to do either playing around or going mountain biking.. not to mention a nice CPO warranty to cover it all. I'm not sure what vehicle I'd even consider replacing it with.. unless Ford offered the standard f150 in the scab with a short bed, then a sc'd 5.0 could work I guess.. Raptors are awesome

I agree with you, but on the east coast the raptor is complete overkill and will never get used for what it was actually intended for. And what makes it worse is the $ 74,000.0 price tag for a trophy truck on the east coast.

I paid $57k for my 2017 and you trust me that "it gets used for what it was intended for"

Your statement is ridiculous.

..and everyone is entitle to their own opinion and tastes. U.S.A. :)

Yeah thats the color I initially wanted but there was the used Silver one with only 1800 miles on it for almost 10k cheaper than what a new one and had some accessories as well. Still see pictures and know that my next one will be a blue one as I had the lightning blue FX4 a couple trucks before this one.

I'm 251 miles into ownership, and loving every minute of it. Like Fastback89 said, I too have been waiting almost 10 years for my very own Raptor.

1. It's the best looking truck on the road, and Performance Blue puts the icing on the cake.
2. It handles this snowy, midwest weather like a champ.
3. The ride is so much smoother than my previous pickups.
4. and pretty much all the reasons you had as well.

Congratulations on the performance blue, that is a great color. My 2 favorite colors on the raptor are ruby red metallic and performance blue.

I drive mine to work and that's it. Yes it is overkill and that's why I love it! I've been after one of these for almost 10 years and last October I finally was able to convince the wife to let me buy one. Now she's hooked and wants a cool car too!

Congratulations on your raptor. Don't take this the wrong way, but you could not own a raptor in a worse location than you do. I myself are similar to you on the east coast, just my congestion is a lot less in coastal maine. Great truck, wrong and terrible location. I'm not being negative because I know all about it.

I actually feel ford should not even stock the raptor on dealers lots northeast of texas or east of Michigan. Special order only.

Ignore this idiot. In his other posts, he makes it clear he is an incredibly poor driver. But like every other know-it-all, rather than acknowledge his own shortcomings, he blames his equipment. Don't know how to drive on snow and ice, obviously, it is the truck's fault.

Do folks who buy Lamborghini, Ferrari, 911 Turbo, MB AMG, BMW M series, Vipers, Hellcat, GT 500..ect ,really need all that? Do they regularly take them out to the track? They are way over built for what most use them for.

What about all the lifted trucks with big tires (Raptor wannabes) ? do those folks go offloading all the time? Do they need a 6 inch lift?

What about all the Land Rover's out there...do they need the sand mode?

I would say most high end vehicles are over built for what most need or use them for.

I say relax.... Enjoy the ride! We have an awesome truck that is as fast as a many sports cars, unbeatable offload, carries 5 people, can haul and tow!
Excellent... that would have been my response.

Enjoy he ride!
