I am not sure of its purpose. I think it has something to do with harmonic vibrations.... but.... really don't know. I put mine back on. The isolation pads on mine were in good shape.

Your noise could be coming from the axel perch holes being wallowed out. also you want close to the same amount of threads showing on your U bolts. if not the bottom plate is cocked on the axel. I have seen that make noise. Did you do the work or have it done? What did you torque them to? the icon bolts are larger diameter than the stock 1/2 inch. I wouldn't be afraid to go to a higher torque spec. pooping/ cracking /making noise is not normal. something is done wrong or not in the correct place.

I bought my dever+2 from a guy here he said they pooped and made noise. they sent him a new set. I installed his old set on my truck. they have been on the truck a while now and don't make a sound. so take that for what it is worth. LOL not much.

Good to know its not the shackles. A local offroad shop installed it and I checked the ubolt threads and they seem to be even. Could need a reinstall since they retorqued it and its less common but still there. I took one of the staff for a test drive and went over like 6 speed bumps. Thought it was fixed until the last speed bump made a noise (seemed like a higher speed bump). But before retorquing, 4 of those speedbumps would've made a thunk.

If I was a guessing man..... I would look to see if they have a drive on rack. It is possible they torqued the U bolts on the lift (2 post) and not on the ground or a drive on 4 post.

I dont know your shop so I am not trying to bad mouth them but something is wrong. I have Done 3 raptors rear springs mine Deaver +2 (3 times) @mwaite09 @Bozz Both icons. none of them popped/squeaked or made noise.
Mine 3 times not because I did anything wrong. 1st my axel perch needed repaired, 2nd time I got the deaver +2. 3rd had to remove them and reinstall them on the new frame. I will probably do them a 4th time I am going to use Icon. the +2 are worse than the stock spring IMO.
