Great explanation. Not all insurance companies treat their customer's fairly either. Ask Jarrett about his cut-rate insurance! Speaking of which, what Ins co do you have? Allstate? State Farm?

Also Gordon, did you weld any of the seams in the cab. I am just assuming some panels or metal are glued together like other cars? I have seen other race car scrape out all the adhesive and weld the seams together for more strength, but I am not sure if it helps with a body on frame vehicle

I forgot to mention one thing. As I was speaking with the head of the total loss department he said, insurance companies are starting to realize what the Raptor is and what its used for. Most of the time they are crashed they are very expensive to fix or are totaled. He was hinting that in the future our rates may reflect this.

My insurance company will no longer insure mine because of the salvaged title so I will have to go stated value with another company. When my truck is near completion I will deal with that.

I wish a moderator would put this string somewhere else so everyone could read it. All these facts are extremely valuable in one form or another to every raptor owner. From the idea of caging to the plain facts about insurance and california insurance.

Thanks for the info Gordon. I am going to try and sell mine for $47k with all the mods to a private seller. Got to talk to Connor if I should part out and sell to CarMax or privately.

Didn't know about the bolt-on law. Also good to see the appraisals and hear about the auction.

Gordon, I have a question about the auction process did you have to bid or were giving the option to bet or match the final highest bid ?

No the cab was stock except for where the tubes ran through for future long travel.

No it was a closed auction. After about an hour of searching I found it. But all the bids were sealed. I didn't have to bid, I just had to pay $1 more than the highest bidder.
