Why never in 4wd??

Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner

I prefer the way it handles in 2wd. I can drift the turns and for me its more enjoyable to drive. I will use 4wd to get moving in soft sand or sometimes in sharp rocks to help save my back tires. But overall I rarely use it.

Wilson. I had offroad mode on and the traction control off. Was in 2wd with the rear diff locked. This is how I always drive my truck offroad.

Plus manual shifting to keep the revs up!

Not nearly as much fun, can't easily drift the rear (thru throttle modulation) on tight turns. I only use 4 WD when bogged down.

Try drifting turns in 4WD and you'll see the difference between 2WD and 4WD....it's like pulling teeth in 4WD taking turns

I've usually ran 2wd but 4wd is a bit safer. I had the wife with me this past weekend and hit a hill at about 60 mph, only 1 of the tires had traction so it pitched the truck sidways a bit. I corrected the truck but it was a bit scary. Well, it probably wasn't that bad but I think worst case these days because of my incident and Gordon's.
