E-10 has caused more damage than it will save... Such as, the fuel system in, motorcycle, motorhome, outboard motor, lawn mower, two boat fuel systems and the fuel pump on about 14 different pieces of farm equipment..... yes subsidies continue...

Ok, so what was the final call here? Does higher octane equal better MPG? I'm no scientist but I feel like I get higher MPG on 92 octane.

How you drive has a much greater impact on fuel mileage than any octane comparatively speaking.. Octane unless grossly below 87 will not effect MPG versus 91 or grossly above since the power generated is marginally the same... You need a power tune to gain anything and then your going to only gain slightly again your driving habits will effect the MPG more than anything....

I ran 87 on my first tank and 93 on my second and third tanks. I like the peppiness the truck has...but maybe that's just the 6.2L breaking in haha

I run 87 octane with my DiabloSport 87 tune.
Octane is the resistance to Detonation (ping), High octane fuel burns SLOWER this is why it resists ping and can accept more timing. I have always been told that you make the most power running the lowest octane fuel you can without detonation.
Has anyone ever tried to verify this 10HP gain with higher octane fuel?
