Pump does not run with jumper wires. Dropped the tank today and pins 3&4 have power while 1&2 do not. This, to me says bad pump. But yes, the fuel pump will run so that eliminates the fuel pump as the problem.

Just a thought, if the fuel rail is at max pressure the rail pressure sensor won't demand fuel.Pump does not run with jumper wires. Dropped the tank today and pins 3&4 have power while 1&2 do not. This, to me says bad pump.
i had both lines disconnected at the tank so I'm sure there's zero pressure. Before when it was connected their was no pump noise from the tank.I wish I could tell to how to loosen a fitting to run down the pressure or test fuel rail pressure sensor, but I don't how.
There is no fuel rail sensor on these trucks. The regulator is part of the pump in the tank.Just a thought, if the fuel rail is at max pressure the rail pressure sensor won't demand fuel.
I don't remember the max psi. I think it's 14 or 15 psi.
The pump does not run continually, it's a closed loop system, there isn't a return line.
When I started my truck, the pump ran 2 to 4 seconds sometimes not at all it depends how long she sat before starting.

So when you ran the jumper and the pump ran full time, did it start and run fine?Pump does not run with jumper wires. Dropped the tank today and pins 3&4 have power while 1&2 do not. This, to me says bad pump.
