Would like to hear some elaboration... Was the testing done by Corey, or is he talking about design purpose of the shock???

No he didn't do the testing...He said that the extra stroke may have been necessary to hit all the zones on the fox and gather sufficient data.

:rondod: well here we go
Yes I called King Shock and asked them to view this Data, I know what "circle" you run in Big J. Big J I think you are a man of integrity, but it is ALWAYS a good idea to do your OWN reasearch !!!!
I did at SEMA 2012.
My top choice is KING, due to the fact that Custer was the original large diameter shock for off road racing. Companys LOYAL to off road racing will get my first shot at business

I believe ANY of these shocks can be customized to a persons specific use by changing coils, or "pre-loading" the coil, or going INSIDE the shock to change valve spacing. I guess shim spacing would better describe the internals.

Shock choice depends on driving skill, agressiveness of driver, percentage of off road driving, and other modifications done or in the process of doing.

Most Raptor owners would Never notice a difference in a Fox 3.0, Icon 3.0, or the King 3.0.

Nah. Nowhere we go.

Corey/RPG did not run these tests.

Those who did run these tests have my full confidence, and I stand behind the results as if I had watched every step of the way. If anyone cares to discuss that particular point further, please reread the Ground Rules 1 and 2, and/or feel free to post about it in Wilson's thread, over here: http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f5/shocking-shock-discussion-23429/

PS: As for the "circles" I run in? If you're referring to my friendship with Corey, Jarrett, Stoner, Kirk, Rowdy ... you betcha! I am quite proud to call those men friends. But none of that has anything to do with these tests. Should you doubt that and feel the need to say so, please see above.

No more drama.

Excellent write up!
For those unclear on how ICON position sensitivity works here is a cutaway view showing how we achieve 3 zones in each direction as well as top out control

This is awesome work, keep it up!

That being said, none of this changes my mind on which shocks i would want to get. :)
