Sorry I should have stated I had stock shocks and that I don't do much off-roading and previous owner didn't. More of a DD, but does seem a rebuild could be possible. I'm hoping something broke or is loose, can't really have the truck down for any extended period of time

I doubt you need a rebuild at 50K miles with minimal off-roading if the OE shocks are rated for 150K miles before a rebuild.

You might have your alignment checked as well. If its not right the front end kinda trips over itself.

I'd like to think the alignment is okay with only 5K on it, but never know. I know I've personally noticed the wheels don't seem straight up and down.... yet no uneven tire wear as of yet.

When it comes time to re-build the shocks, I'll most likely call one of the vendors (RPG, TMX, KHC, etc...) to see if I can acquire some used ones at a cheap price and once they arrive I will send the ones off the truck to get re-built and forever have a spare pair... That's my plan, anyway!

Checked sway bar and connecting rods and all looked good. I also didn't see anything else that looked out of place.

Think my next step is to go back to alignment shop and have them verify it's still within spec.

Make sure it's a quality alignment shop that actually knows what they're doing and doesn't just twist bolts until the lights turn green.

They all float at a certian speed. Depends on how high yours is sitting and the tires you are running. With the bigger tires and sitting higher mine gets fun at much higher speeds than you are talking about. At 75 mine is Solid....

It's a quality alignment shop, but not sure how the dude doing it was. It's just confusing that in past week I started really noticing this floating when driving around 75. Only thing I changed was from my 2013 headlights to my 2010's while I gave the 2013's some TLC internally. :)

After a trip to Lake Conroe this past weekend, I was able to figure a couple things out:

1. Tire(s) need balancing, at 78mph truck shakes.
2. From just looking, I think it's out of alignment.
3. Best explanation front suspension now is it's like a pogo stick. It has so much rebound that on interstate when the front end comes up my steering gets lighter. This is very apparent going around turns with expansion joints.

#1 & #2 will be taken care this week, no doubt. #3 just straight up feels like my shocks are bad. I have transferred the previous owners extended warranty (appears aftermarket warranty) to me, so I guess is the only option short of buying new ones and installing myself so I'll have wheels to drive.

Opinions?
