I doubt that these would break if you've never aired your tires out and landed hard but then again you never know. I'm wondering how the stock shocks are holding up. I've had my 3.0's on soon after I got the truck so I didn't have much time on the stock ones but they were good when I sold them.
anyone else checked their mounts.
When it breaks you cannot tell unless you look at it like Madcow did. My Driver side looked just like his. You cannot tell by the ride, handling or noise. I could tell with the Chrome Moly replacements my front end sure felt tighter. I also think my front end looked a little lower when they were broken. Now it is sitting level again.
To check if you have aluminum or not I suppose you could take a little file and if it's aluminum it should be easy to file some aluminum shaving. If it's metal you should be able to tell by how hard it will be to get any filings.
There is probably a better way but that's the only way I can think of.
I hope no one else finds broken ones but it wouldn't be a bad idea to check if your shocks have been on for a while.
