Barely a day after doing the parking light as DRL FORScan mod, I received a warning by California Highway Patrol that it is illegal in California to drive around with only the parking lights on. Sure enough Section 24800 of the California Vehicle Code states: “No vehicle shall be driven at any time with the parking lamps lighted except when the lamps are being used as turn-signal lamps or when the headlights also are lighted.”

Love this state.

Why would anyone possibly make this a law? Are they worried someone will see your parking lights traveling down the interstate on and assume you're in park?

A great deal of the vehicle code in the US is designed to give LE an excuse to detain. As you point out, there’s practically zero value to such a law, but, if it is in the criminal code, it’s a violation of law, allow police to stop, detain, cite, possibly search, seize and arrest. So, for an enterprising young officer who knows the vehicle code inside and out, these violations make easy pickings or “poaching” as it is sometimes called.

Anyone here missing the DDM & PDM Modules? Have made several changes successfully, but don't seem to have access to those 2 modules? There looks to be anther Rap with OBDLink MX with same issue... I ordered a hardwire usb to try as well

FORScan forum • View topic - Missing DDM & PDM Modules - 2017 Raptor / OBDLink MX

I'm using the OBDLink MX and can access the DDM and PDM without any issues. I've done mods on my truck and two others with this setup without any issue. What version of the Forscan software are you using? Are you using the Bluetooth adapter or the wifi adapter?

I'm using FORScan version 2.3.8 beta for Windows with the extended license. I use the bluetooth version as some have reported issues with the wifi version.
