Thought I'd mention that I was able to permanently disable the interior motion sensors ("intrusion detection") for the vehicle alarm. This is slightly different than arming your truck in Perimeter Only mode. When you arm in Perimeter Only, only opening a door, the hood or the tailgate will trigger an alarm. This change just removes the interior motion sensors (basically a permanent alternative to placing black tape over them) but leaves in place the inclination sensor that detects jacking or towing of the vehicle.

BCM 726-02-01 xxxx x2xx xxxx

I tested it in full protection mode and door opening and jacking still both set off the alarm.

You retain the option to arm in Perimeter Only mode if you want to also disable the inclination sensors. (actual function not tested)

This change obviously makes the truck vulnerable to glass breakage, smash and grab type attacks...but if combined with the Ford Perimeter Plus that senses impacts and shocks (which glass breakage would set off), I don't think you're really giving up much in terms of security. And you gain the option of letting your dog tag along on errands and stay in the truck without having to specially arm Perimeter Only every time you exit.

Certainly not for everyone...but I also know I'm not the only one that was interested in this.

To return to full intrusion detection/motion sensors:

BCM 726-02-01 xxxx x1xx xxxx

This was with my 2018 - 802A.

Anyone who is in southwest Ohio (Dayton area), and needs help with Forscan, I can help, I also have an IDS, programming or un-doing a mistake is no issue.
I just want to confirm, but are all of the FORScan changes done with the key in the "Accessory" key position (truck is not running)? I tried to create a "Stock" file so I could install a tune, and I appear to be having an inconsistent power issue in the "Accessory" key position. I was able to successfully make a few FORSCan changes, but it was also failing in the "Accessory" key position and I had to have the engine running in order to prevent the communication failure issues. I wonder if I have a bad PCM or something else going on. The truck is only two weeks old. Everything else seems to be working okay. It has been a long time and I can't remember exactly what I did on my 2017, but I think I am doing everything the same, but just not having success on my 2019.

Key on, engine off, I recommend a battery charger set at 10amps while doing programming, I had the same issue on my truck, low or not enough voltage.

Additionally, there may be some modules that are not accessible on a 19.

Thanks for the response. Just so I am clear, connecting a battery charger directly to the battery could fix my issue? Do you need to leave it attached for a period of time before doing the programming? I am confused as to why this would help since my battery is brand new and appears to be fully charged. I am reportedly loosing power/connectivity less than 30 seconds into the programming. I never had this issue on my 2017. I also just saw on a BMW forum that they recommend buckling the driver seat belt to prevent the ignition from shutting off? Is anybody doing anything similar when coding their Raptor?

Although I don't recommend it in the tutorial, you can do FORScan programming with the engine running and that should alleviate your issue. A few years ago in the SoCal summer when I was testing values in the 110 degree heat in my truck, I had the truck running and A/C on and made hundreds of writes to various modules without issue. If you were doing firmware flashing then that's a different story and you would need the truck off and have the battery charger connected but for simple programming you can just have the engine running if FORScan is complaining about the voltage.

^^^This^^^, I do my stuff in a shop environment, so it’s just easier for me to put a charger on the truck, lots of modules communicating, everything is drawing current, hence either leaving it run or hook a charger up, either should work for forscan.

I've done FORScan changes both ways. I was thinking about the same thing yesterday when updating my SYNC3 from v2.3 to v3.0. Ford says to have the truck running for that...and wondered if it even mattered as long as my battery was strong. ??

I've updated Sync on numerous vehicles and have never had it running. It's Ford's way of covering their ass for people who don't have a good battery.

I've put a charger on as well when messing with Forscan for an extended time period.

Well, before forscan, we were hex editing things into what we wanted them to become, I learned a lot about voltage levels and maintaining constant current. You guys can do what you want, I was editing 1’s and 0’s before byte maps existed, I cut my teeth on Motorola radios...... the good old days.
