Has anyone bought these and tried them?

https://forged-offroad.com/product/...we-replacement-forged-offroad/?v=f24485ae434a

I've been feeling a dragging of late, and I swear I can hear a light wisp of air but can't locate it. It wouldn't be the first time I've had an IWE tube fail or break off the fitting.

So I'm looking for an upgrade.

How difficult was the install?
I've reinstalled the OEM ones. It was about a 15 minute job. I don't see how these would be any different. It's really handy to have the retaining clip puller tool thing. I'm sure it has a legit name - this type of thing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779KWP8J/?tag=fordraptorforum-20 Also, it's easy to test them with vacuum gauge, like you find in a brake bleed kit - https://www.harborfreight.com/Brake-Bleeder-and-Vacuum-Pump-Kit-63391.html .

Just buy some 1/4” nicop and bend up your own lines. Takes less than a hour and costs less than 25 dollars. Run the vent lines for the iwe up to the top of the firewall. Doing this ended all my problems with iwe,s

Are the fittings flared or compression type? Seems like this would be much better than the silicone or OEM especially here in the desert where things dry out and tend to crack.

I can't seem to get clarity on how the silicone is THAT much better than the factory vinyl

No need to flare. The 1/4” steel line slips inside the rubber hoses that attach to the iwe. I used 2 pieces of hard line and connected the two pieces with a 4” piece of rubber hose. The connection is in the center of the front cross member. The nicop line is very easy to bend and manipulate to get it to fit properly. I reused a piece of the original iwe lines to get the vent for the iwe to the top of the firewall. I will try and get some pics but we are in the middle of a snowstormmright now.

Just a heads up to my fam in California, you will fail SMOG if you run metal lines in place of silicone ones in your vacuum system
