Smurf is fluent is sarcasm....matter of fact, most of this board is. So fluent that they stopped paying the extra charge for the sarcasm font for the site.

I think Christopher got you with his sarcastic reply to smurf's sarcasm. Well done, Chris.

To heck with ADP/ADM or whatever you want to call it. It's bulls***! I've never paid for such a thing and never would. Besides, if you are willing to spend a few hours on the phone, I think you can find a dealer somewhere that will sell at Invoice (like on my '11 and the dealership ended up only being 20 minutes away) or worst case scenario MSRP.

I know one saleman at a Dealership that has stated on his YouTube that he always will sell @ MSRP on high performance vehicles anyway.

To me this clearly shows that despite people saying “dealers can charge what they want” Ford corporate absolutely has leverage over their dealers. Yes Ford Performance vehicles sell themselves but that doesn’t mean that people should have to fight to not get ripped off.

They have no right to claim their high performance cars can run with exotics for a fraction of the cost & their so affordable when it’s so difficult to find them at MSRP.

I just had a dealership here in California tell me they charge over MSRP for all F150s. My first thought was **** that dealership, followed quickly by my second thought as to wtf is wrong with Californians (clearly I'm not from here). I would never pay over MSRP and definitely not for a basic F150.

And that's the beauty of capitalism. Loyalty to a local dealership, in the modern era of mobility, is unnecessary.

If your local dealer is a ripoff, expand your search radius.

I just went through this with a TRX search. I contacted dealers within a 5-hour radius... the prices are on a bell curve.

A few were successfully charging $20-30k over MSRP. Most were charging $5-10k over. Maybe a quarter were selling at MSRP.

And I did manage to find two dealerships who were willing to sell to me at $1k under MSRP... just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger.

TL;DR: Don't get butthurt about dealer markups. Search around and you will find what you need. A $300 one-way plane ticket is easy.

But what about service? If a sales dept is a rip off I don’t want to prop them up with service either. I either support a dealer or not at all. Luckily my Ford dealer hasn’t ever tried to charge me ADM on my purchases. If they ever tried to though I would never set foot on the property again.

Went through same ADM bull when buying my Bronco. If your willing to spend aliitle phone time, you can find a reasonable dealer that doesn't charge it. I plan on ordering, so whom ever gives me the best deal gets my sale. Driving a few hours to save a few thousand is worth it to me. Also get it in writing or it didn't happen.
