Birdman (admin) asked for details on upcoming Raptor purchases...so...Just ordered a 2013 from a NY dealership thanks to the advice from another forum member (Raptor911).
Options:
801A, moonroof, bed extender, front/rear camera, box side/hood graphics
MSRP: $55,740
Invoice price: $51150, which is the price I paid...
No B.S., and the dealership did NOT ask for a deposit...
Only disappointing side is approximate delivery date is March 2013 (back-log), but evidently this is "worse case", and should be much sooner....but who knows. I'm happy with the arrangement.

Looks like ours will be coming in at the same time to the same dealer. That dealership is very good btw. There is a strong Subaru community here locally that swear by the owner and how they do things.

2013 Terrain Super Cab $39,333
801A Lux package $4,059
Beadlocks $994
Spray-in bed liner $405
Box side graphics... $900

$47524.56

That is good to know about the dealer "jrodrg"...I was a bit hesitant ordering a vehicle from a dealership 8 hours away from me. But a couple of others have also commented that this particular dealer has a good history. One thing I still don't understand though...I can order a 2013 Raptor and get over $4k off of MSRP...but if I buy one on the lot...I have to pay "full price". I also don't get the "long" wait for the order. Granted...I have never ordered a car before, but speaking with friends, 4+ months seems to be an awfully long time. I did tell the salesman I was in no big hurry...but you know how that feeling is "whittled down" when you hear of so many others driving around in their new Raptors...when all I can do is look at a piece of paper.

Dealers will often deal on a special order because it's sold before it hits the lot. Dealer stock can sit on lots for months before selling so dealers want to get a good return on their investment. More times than not, buying a Raptor off the lot is an impulse buy, and a dealer will take advantage of you.

For those who don't have patients and want it NOW, these folks will pay the NOW price.

And why would you be hesitant to buy from a dealer 8 hours from you when you know you will save 4-5K off of MSRP?

The sooner you order the sooner you will get your Raptor.

I placed an order with this dealership on 7/11 and it is scheduled for a build on 11/7 and I saved over 4K. And I am 6.5 hours away from this dealership.
