Raptor's old news...ancient leaf springs, sketchy 10spd/V6...easily forgotten
Raptor may be old news but it is still on top when it comes to the high end light trucks. It is still the goal that all the other manufactures hope to attain. In regards to the leaf springs, tranny and V6, I would have to disagree with you. For a truck the leaf springs are built for purpose, the tranny may still have kinks to work out, but the V6 TT is beyond the others. With the amount of power you can pull from this motor it is rather impressive. I will venture to say that other manufactures around the world are looking to do the same. The big bore/ big blocks and high displacement V8's are becoming a thing of the past. Smaller displacement with turbos or superchargers are the future. Dodge is still in the past when it comes to this. If you disagree I will be more than happy to bring you around to a track where new power plants are being developed for consumer use. Most are going away from the high displacement motors.
I have owned every other brand of trucks and I do like my Raptor more than the others for what I use it for. Now with that being said if I wanted an everyday beater I might consider another manufacturer. Having owned a couple of Dodge or Ram's as they are now called I don't think I will ever buy another. I have had a Dakota R/T, Dodge Viper, and the Dodge SRT10 in the past. All were fun for about a month then lost their luster. The only Dodge I would ever consider in the future would be the Viper if they ever decided to build it again, doubtful.
