Interesting. Do you have a write-up on how you did your hybrid version? Sometimes it is hard to judge the sound with the cell phone videos but based on the two posted I think the Sport sounds better, but I was leaning towards the Touring to avoid the drone.

Yes , look at the post, " Ford racing exhaust ordered" I have pics and wrote it up in there.

I noticed the stock pipe is straight with 2/3 of the pipe with holes where the resonator is. The touring pipe has 4 smaller tubes with holes where its resonator is, so to me there is more air flow restriction with the touring resonator than stock. I might try putting the stock one back on just to see if its different.....or maybe not.

Wish I would have taken a picture to post

I think the stock resonator with the straight through design, no restriction, and louder sound with no drone in the cab is the way to go, just my opinion and everybody's ears are different, but that is why I suggest buying the sport ford racing system, because the stock resonator is a good one and it takes 20$ to weld a small piece on the end to make it fit and then you also have a good delete pipe from ford.

I deleted my resonator and was sorry I did. The stock resonator does it's job well.

I have the borla touring system along with American Racing LT Headers. When the shop completed the install they left the borla touring resonator out. They installed a 3" straight pipe instead. The reason for them doing this was due to the resonator being to long. It just did not fit with LT headers. OMG was it loud and drone like crazy. IMO, it was horrible.

The shop then decided to try a small borla 3" muffler in place of the straight pipe. This helped eliminate about 30% of the drone and the sound was fairly decent. Still to much to bare and a bit to raspy.

We are now on the 3rd try. I had a different shop cut the flanges off the borla resonator and weld it on (they had the tools to weld stainless). The sound is a bit to tame now and there is still a some drone at cruising rpm's.

I never would have known exhaust systems could be this tricky to get perfect. However, after reading this thread, I may try a stock resonator. I also ordered a helmholtz resonator just in case drone is still bad.

I will say this, LT headers change everything. ***** are loud and at the same time very nice!

I am also open to any suggestions.

This is a good thread for borla lets keep it going.

Bump! Anyone have the ford racing along with Long Tube headers? Would love to hear a sound clip. I may purchase this exhaust and sell my current (6 month old) borla touring setup.

I wonder if it drones? Looks like he has the straight pipe also. If I go this route, I am almost positive I have to use either the factory res or the bores res. Drone would be horrible.

@NJStangersJonathan has Kooks LT Headers and Ford Racing Exhaust installed...sounds mean as shit!

Thanks man! Quite a few Raptors on the road in Central Jersey have heard it since I've been driving it so much more in the last 2 weeks.

There's really not much drone, you will start to hear some above 2000rpms but it's honestly not bad at all...it sounds too good to care about any minimal drone and the fact that I can still have a call with a client while driving on the highway is awesome.

I'll try to get a few videos up.

It would be awesome to have some sound clips. I have the ARH already and strongly considering the Ford racing setup. Do you have the resonator or straight pipe in?
