Each Calibration is by vin number. You have to download and send the file to FP. They then create the file for your vehicle and send it back to so that it can be written(programmed) to the specific vehicle. All calibrations are saved to Ford’s server so that any cute over the air or manual updates do not affect the performance calibration. Whipple Calibrations are also saved to Ford’s server for the same reason.

Sadly I can’t see a situation where they don’t require a VIN to purchase….along with phone number, email, name, address, mothers maiden name. The question is …how often does the FP database interact with your local dealers database.

Interesting. Does that mean OTA updates are not sent to your vehicle or are they sync'd with the tune?

“Whipple and it is Ford Calibration team.” Grammatical failure aside, they mean their in-house Ford guys - not that they had access to Ford staff.

And perhaps you're correct. But, Whipple is the only one Ford shared the source code with. That's meaningful I'd imagine.

This makes sense from a production standpoint. They can optimize for variations in hardware. There would be some core values that wouldn’t update with OTA. Are they doing it? I would like to know.

Not sure if it was mentioned previously in this thread, but FO’s social media account took down their post about the tune for this raptor. Could they possibly be re-writing this tune based on all the initial reactions?
