I found a buildup of what can only be described as clear coat on my quarter panel.

It's clear, hard, and can't be 'scratched' off.

Didn't raise a stink about it although it is easily seen.

Too much hassle to take it in and deal with that stuff. May mention something when I go in for service.

The situation with your door, though, would make me raise hell in a heartbeat.

Have you tried getting in contact with the Ford Service Rep on this site. I have heard she has been helpful in these types of things.

Didn't know there is one. I contacted the FORD customer service call center, and their response is they cannot change it and the decision is final. "Contact your purchasing dealer, and see if they will pay to fix it."

Thank you... BTW GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!! I own a home in Tellico Village, it's Just south of Knoxville, and am a UT alum.

Been to tellico quite a few times my uncle had a boat that he used to take there a lot. I was born and raised in the Knoxville and Sevier County area.

Get a hold of the SVT rep on here and talk to her and see if this is something Ford is willing to step up on... Secondly your dealer could still warranty this and Ford gives them a fixed budget of money to cover questionable warranty issues.. I have been told this by several dealers so I don't doubt it is true... Pressure the dealer and explain how this is making you very unhappy with your Ford purchase and unhappy with the buying experience as a whole now...

I would not let up and be more stout in your responses to the dealer.. Ask to speak to the dealer principle and escalate it as necessary. If your sure you did not do this and the truck has not been out of your possession then its on Ford to make it right. If it was months after the purchase then talk to your insurance but during the first couple weeks Ford has an obligation to help you determine what the cause was and stand behind the product.. It may have been a detailer laid a cord over the door and it closed causing the issue I don't know... If your not going to push Ford then Ford is not going to do anything....
