Ford building 2,600 Raptors per month???

I talked to my dealer tonight and they are buying from other dealers at sticker. They are then selling them for 2000.00 over sticker. They sold all 20 allotted at sticker, including mine to me. My salesman left out a bit of info the other day. He is so busy he has an assistant that works with him all day everyday.

I spoke to a young girl that is a locator and they are making big money off the Raptors. Dealerships out west are paying sticker or a little more from dealers in the east. Dealers in the east then need a truck and buy back from the west. Meanwhile the locator services are minding the trade and making $ from each - this of course is passed to everyone else. What a racket ... This girl was 22 years old and made $103k transferring vehicles last year. She says that she had transferred about 15 raptors last week. She says its the same with the GT350r

Can she locate configurable retail allocations that haven't been pulled yet, or does she just work with dealer orders that have already been scheduled/built?

I'd rather pay a 3rd party to find an MSRP allocation than pad some dealers pockets with an ADM, but I need a configurable allocation because none of the dealer builds have Interior Accent and no Moonroof.

The whole "configurable allocation" is a grey area. Dealers are placing stock orders for fully loaded trucks since they might as well, someone will buy them fully loaded since there are enough people looking. Then, several of us are being told by dealers that once a VIN is assigned, you cannot configure the stock order differently. However, some dealers are in deed able to change specs even after VIN - i.e., mine, where even color was changed to my spec after VIN and build date were both assigned.

I think it comes down to how much pull the dealer has with Ford, as well as how much the dealer is willing to work to sell you the truck.

Nope, unfortunately none of the ones that are even close to my desired specs (LB/802A/SCREW/T/TS/HS/HRS/TA/IA/CAE, specifically no MR or SL) are actually for sale.

I must say, I truly appreciate you making the effort to not just compile but also publicize the infirmation on your site - I've been using it to keep and eye on things since you first posted it and it's much easier than using Ford's own inventory tool (not to mention the added benefit of tracking total production trends!).

If they are producing 2600 per month, how much of that inventory is going overseas?? There have been lots of articles and photos re: the large quantity going to China. What percentage of that 2600 is going not only to China but the Middle East??

Also, I have not seen any peeps waiting for MY 2018 make any mention of a price adjustment for that MY. Even the 2017 has gone up $535 during the same MY. I've seen estimates ranging from $1500 to 5k for a price hike for MY 2018. That price hike would nullify any moderate ADM for a 2017 and someone would not have had to wait a year to drive their Raptor by paying say a 2k ADM.

So if you subtract all of the vehicles produced prior to December (they were given out as demos for reviewers/articles), that means each state averaged 130 Raptors. Then factor in how many are still on Ford lots and now each state is below 100 Raptors. For states with populations in the 10s of millions, it's no wonder why some are not seeing many new Raptors on the road yet.
