you should definitely drive the diesel before you write it off. the entertainment value of 1050ft/lbs of torque is worth the extra $$$ :)
Agreed. I traded my Raptor on a heavily option tremor - power stroke, max tow, lariat ultimate etc etc. It feels quicker than the raptor but far less nimble. But I bought this truck to tow and that’s where it will shine. It doesn’t have the road presence of the raptor but hoping some 37s will help a bit.

Company got me a new F-550 this year. She weighs in at 18500lb’s fully loaded. The commercial trucks are de tuned but still have decent power. My only complaint after 8000 miles is the 10 speed lag off the line, I think it has something to do with the dual clutchBCFDEB08-570B-4A99-968C-54436A6F2EA7.jpeg

Company got me a new F-550 this year. She weighs in at 18500lb’s fully loaded. The commercial trucks are de tuned but still have decent power. My only complaint after 8000 miles is the 10 speed lag off the line, I think it has something to do with the dual clutchView attachment 316727
Super Duty does not use a dual clutch transmission; they use the new 10R140 transmission with a conventional torque converter.

The lag/delay off the line is due to the neutral idle feature; the transmission automatically shifts to neutral when the brakes are applied and the truck is at a complete stop. When the brake is released, it re-engages first gear.

I’m glad the raptor 10 speed doesn’t act the same way. you can drive around it with light brake pressure before the light turns green but if you forget it’s like a 2-3 second delay

Are you referring to the Auto Stop-Start? The time to restart is about half a second once the brake pedal is released; not sure what you're referencing.

No auto start/stop there’s a 2-3 second delay from full brake to accelerator. Feels like a stall kit. I believe it has been complained about and documented as normal by Ford. This is a F-550, not sure if 3/4 and 1 tons are the same.

Only the chassis cab models (F-350 to F-600) have the neutral idle feature, pickups don’t have it.
