Hey guys bought a 2020 raptor back in April about to order Goosetuned stage 2 but i know I need to upgrade inter cooler first. Looking for recommendations from those of you already rolling GT stage 2. Thanks in advance!

stock location is cheaper and easier, relocated is bigger and stronger but more money and may cause overheating in extreme conditions. A stock location could possibly slip by warranty work.

Frame cut bumpers require a relocated IC.

I run a shelby branded whipple in the stock location and Im happy with it, and it keeps the stock fans.

Most stock locations are roughly the same.

I also enjoy a turbosmart BOV.

The wagner is a combo of the two, possibly the best and worst of both worlds.

What are your goals?

I am running SVCs FMIC and a stage 2ACN tune from goose. Super happy with it! My truck pulls HARD on my buddies stock Raptor.

Really just more power for powers sake lol. I don’t want to go overboard but I don’t want any cheap stuff either. From reading this forum seems like best move is tune combined with upgraded IC. I would leave it in stock location

Went the CVF route after looking at many... seems to be the best bang for the buck in a stock location (not "cheap" as in quality though). However, unlike other platforms there are no back to back comparisons between the various offerings that I'm aware of. So don't expect a definitive answer if you are looking at "numbers". And, unless your talking same vehicle same day it's not apples to apples anyway.

I went with the ADD front mount. If you have mechanical ability it’s not a hard install. Plus walking out to your truck seeing that FMIC peeking behind the grille always gives you that “oohweee!!” feeling! My main selling point on this Intercooler was that it’s carb compliant as we all know Cali has the best automotive laws!

I went with stock location. If you are simply going to use goose stage 2 and not go crazy on other mods, or are not going with bumper that requires FMIC, I would stay with factory location. You will not have any appreciable performance gains by going FMIC I would think. Intercooler are for preserving power and I think the factory mount CVF that I have does that very well. I don’t think other Intercoolers will make temps any better, but almost any intercooler is a huge boost over factory.

I'm still kind of new to this stuff, but what is FMIC and CVF. I may upgrade my intercooler later, but I'm not sure what all this means. I already have a Cobb Accessport with a Stage 1 Goosetune. If I did want to upgrade intercooler I would want to keep it in the stock location since I don't plan on doing aftermarket bumpers. Is it a worthwhile upgrade or only if you get something big like the ADD or Cobb Intercooler?
