I'm for Royal Purple for Power Steering and Diffs and Transfer case and Mobile 1 for the engine oil because it is cheaper.

Mobile 1 is definitely a cheap oil. But comparing Royal Purple, I can often ship AMSOIL for less than most local places sell their products. (I can ship Royal Purple as well)

Man, I don't even know if Ford knows what is really going on with their manuals. Ignore that, there is a thread here on the forum specifically about the gear lube specifications and they should all have 75w-140 in the rear without any additional friction additive and should all have 75W-90 in the front unless you spend most of your time offroading. If you do, then 75W140 will work to provide better protection in the front. You also don't need additional friction additive in the front because Amsoil already has some in it. That is why you can't find a 75w-80 Amsoil, there isn't one available. Looking at that PDF, I see it also says 80w-90 for the front. I honestly believe Ford does this to get folks to buy Motocraft fluids since they own Motocraft.

Here is what you need
3 quarts of Severe Gear 75w-140 for the rear (5 quarts with aftermarket diff cover)
2 quarts of Severe Gear 75W-90 for the front

There's a HUGE thread debating what viscosity to use and whether friction modifier is required. I used the following and no additional modifier.

Rear Diff:
Amsoil SEVERE GEAR 75W-140 Synthetic EP Lubricant (SVOQT)
5 quarts (about 4.5)

Front Diff:
SEVERE GEAR 75W-90 Synthetic EP Lubricant (SVGQT)
2 quarts

The Amsoil vehicle product search states the same. The Ford documentation is inconsistent so you'll be confused if you cross reference the F-150 manual, Raptor supplement, etc.

Edit: Chris just beat me. :)

BTW, if my amounts look off it's because I also swapped to a Mag-hytec diff cover for the rear.

I had the 140 for the rear before it blew up and ford had to rebuild it all and dumped all my RP gear lube. Only had like 400 miles on the stuff.

To clarify, Ford adjusted the preload on the bearing when it was in for service they noticed the clunk. Well they over tightened it and it almost locked up.

I came across that article today, seems like its for the canadian market.

I talked to a Ford technician about that when I had the TSB work done to my tranny and he said that there are actually two different transfer cases in some Raptors. The one with the Ford logo stamped into the back K half of the outer case calls for a new Motocraft transfer case fluid and the other that doesn't have the logo stamped in it calls for ATF like usual. I don't know for sure how correct he was about that because mine has the logo stamp and still calls for ATF I. The manual as a 2011. I've got a bit more digging to do on that subject.

1Your engine has been designed to use Motorcraft motor oils or equivalent oil brands that meet Ford's specifications. It is also acceptable to use motor oils of the recommended viscosity grade that meet API SN requirements and displays the API Certification Mark for gasoline engines.

2Do not use oils labeled with API SN service category unless the label also display the API certification mark. These oils do not meet the requirements of your vehicles engine and emissions system. Do not use supplemental engine oil additives. They are unnecessary and could lead to engine damage that is not covered by Ford’s warranty.
3Add the coolant type originally equipped in your vehicle.

4 Add 118 ml (4 fluid oz.) of Additive Friction Modifier XL-3 (US) / CXL-3 (Canada) or equivalent meeting Ford specification EST-M2C118-A for a complete refill of TorsenTM limited slip differential front axles.
5Fill 6 millimeter to 14 millimeter (1/4 inch to 9/16 inch) below bottom of fill hole.

Note: Your vehicle’s rear axle is filled with a synthetic rear axle lubricant and is considered lubricated for life. These lubricants do not need to be checked or changed unless a leak is suspected, service is required or the axle assembly has been submerged in water. The axle lubricant should be changed any time the rear axle has been submerged in water.

Note: Do not add Additive Friction Modifier to the rear axle.

6Make sure the correct automatic transmission fluid is used. Transmission fluid requirements are indicated on the dipstick or on the dipstick handle. Check the container to verify the fluid being added is of the correct type. Refer to your scheduled maintenance information to determine the correct service interval.

7Approximate dry fill capacity including transmission fluid cooling system, actual refill capacities will vary based on vehicle application and transmission fluid cooling system
(for example: coolers size, cooling lines, auxiliary cooler capacities). The amount of transmission fluid and fluid level should be set by the indication on the dipstick’s normal operating range.
