I just had the Flowmaster FX muffler installed on my 18 SCREW. As Toadster said the passenger side exhaust outlet from the resonator has to be flared to slip fit the inlet of the Flowmaster. I have a lift and have done installs myself but I am glad I paid $100 for this job to be done.

It took 2.5 guys 1 solid hour to get it in, and it was easier after the spare was dropped. That being said quick review:

Positive - cheap (got the last one off Amazon for $440
- drops a bit of weight off the truck, maybe 10-15 lbs
- re-uses stock tips which I think look great
- can hear more turbo spool, might spool faster from less backpressure

Negatives - mine required flaring the resonator slightly for fitment
- exhaust tone is Meh at best. Considering re-installing the stock can

Do you have the SPD Turbo Adapters? I thought the Toadsters videos sounded pretty good with his setup of Flowmaster and SPDs.

No I don't have any other exhaust mods.

After driving a couple hundred miles the packing (I guess Flowmasters must have some packing) in the muffler has packed down bc it is getting louder. Tone seems too high in pitch or could be just the engine sounds pumped into the stereo.

I might try to buy the Flowmaster X-pipe to run without the resonator bc none of my 3.6l TT Porsches sound this ricey and are much deeper toned

Thanks. Wanting to change mine but couldn't decide on what system. I absolutely do not want to hear that annoying constant drone and having to raise my voice to talk. Guess I'll go this route. If you have the speakers on how much louder is the simulated tone?

I finally turned off the sim engine noise. Seems to have diminished the volume of exhaust note by roughly 1/4. No real change in tone. System doesn't really drone it's just a tad ricey

I can live with a tad ricey, as long as there is no drone! I will leave my sim noise on for now, just to see if I can live with it on my next highway trip.

FlowFX = dump$ter drone

I thought you threw your truck away already?

No, no. He had a picture of the FlowFX muffler next to a truck that looks like the one in his avatar, but we never saw them installed. He "says" he put them on his avatar-look-alike truck and after many, many highway miles of dumpster drone, he took it off and sold them to his buddy with a 2.3L ecoboost Mu-tang. His buddy had to heavily fabricate his 2" single-in/single-out exhaust to fit the much larger 3" dual-inlet, dual-outlet Raptor muffler. After all of that hard work, the 4-banger Mu-tang sounded AWESOME, so he could NOT get FlowFX back from him at even twice the price he paid...
