I need some tips on my wheels and tires.
Got all the mud off of everything, front and back, soaked everything with the green all purpose cleaner, then scrubbed the tires with stiff bristle scrubber and the wheel cleaner that goes in your drill, rinse and repeat, soak in SVRT.
Eveythib get is still brown and dingy looking.
Dang mud! Keep that truck on the road.
I had this same issue when my truck was only a few weeks old. Silty mud stained the tires and I scrubbed and scrubbed with only minor improvement. It seems like the mud just soaked into the tire.
I did eventually get them clean, it just took multiple times, like during the weekly wash over a month or longer. It eventually worked out of the tire, using All Purpose Cleaner. A few times I also mixed APC with Dawn Dish soap in a small container (no water), and then dipped the scrub brush into it and applied. When just spraying the APC, it runs off too fast, mixing with Dawn and working it into a lather on the tire gives it more hang time on the tire and longer to work.
Also, the last time I rotated the tires, I laid them all flat on the driveway and scrubbed the dickens out of them, letting the ACP/Dawn mixture sit on the sidewall for a long time. Just don't let it dry on the wheels.
To prevent, or at least reduce, stains from mud, keep the tires sealed up with SVRT or Tire Shine. I like the Tire Shine better than SVRT, as it lasts a lot longer on the tires. Keep in mind that different tires respond differently to these products. Tire Shine works great on the stock BFGs, but some people find that other brands or even different rubber compounds within the same tire brand will respond differently to both products. You have to try them and see what works best.
