Feedback on Goodyear Duratrac Tires

Do the Durtracs come ins a true 35x12.5, when I looked at them for my Wrangler about 2 years ago they didn't have a true 35" size. I ended up going with the KO2 instead because the Durtrac was more like a 34"

My current Duratracs are marked LT315/70R17. Goodyear's web site gives the outside diameter as 34.4 inches. They've served me very, very well for 37,500 miles. They still have plenty of tread for summer use, but winter is approaching. My new set of Duratracs are on order.

A little digging reveals that Goodyear DuraTrac tires are available in size 35x12.50R20LT. That's great if you have 20 inch wheels and have an extra $50 per tire to spend. Goodyear gives the outside diameter of that tire as 34.8 inches. Not even a half-inch difference, and only 9 revolutions per mile difference. Whoopy.

Interesting. When I looked a couple years ago there was more of a difference as I remember the Duratracs around 34" even. I like the Duratracs as I live where is snows and they are probably the best in snow yet still do well in the summer.

Totally incorrect but have fun with them!

I disagree, but to each his own. The truck has an abundance of power with 35s or 37s.

Beyond durability, how do they perform off-road compared to the KO2's? I spend a lot of time in the Sierra in the winter and the KO2's seem decent in snow (that's without a comp to anything else), but have heard how strong Duratrac's are in snow and considering switching out when the KO2's are done.

Though I never had a flat with the Duratracs, I’ve been with guys who did off-road. The sidewalks are their weakness.

Do the Duratracs have C rated sidewall or D rated?

I’m pretty sure it’s a 2 ply sidewall. The BFG is a 3 ply.

I was told before that the Duratracs and KO2 are both a 2-ply, but the KO2 has increased by 20% rubber on the sidewall.
