Hi all. New to the forum and new to the Raptor world. I bought a new 2018 Raptor supercab off the lot in July. I had a Tacoma before that which needed an updated transmission tune from the factory to make it shift better. Just wondering if Ford has updated tunes that I should have installed for any issues since it was manufactured. Thanks in advance!

There was an update that Ford started using on all builds after like Oct 17. My 3/18 build had it flashed already. I would assume your has the current one given your build date.

So after just reading another post it looks like there may be a newer one out.

there is an update that positively affect trans performance. go the dealer and ask if they can hook your truck up to IDS for the latest PCM update and any other updates that may be available. Tell them your trans is shifting rough so they have reason to create a ticket.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds much like I had to do with the Tacoma. Not sure they had issued a TSB but they updated at my request. [emoji106][emoji106]

I took mine in for this issue this morning along with a couple recalls. My '18 was delivered last January. I'm hoping they can workout the shift issues as they are quite annoying!

I agree. Mine goes through to 5th way too soon and is rough at times.

I got the truck back last night and it feels like a completely different truck with smooth shifts and much more power. I find it ridiculous that Ford does not do a recall to fix this simple issue. They had my truck for the whole day to fix 3 recalls, so I'm not exactly sure how long just this would take them. Maybe 30 minutes max.

Can anyone tell me what TCM and PCM version they are running? Local Ford dealer tells me there is absolutely no updates available (truck was built May 2018 and has not been updated since delivery).

Do you know which update they did? Are there TSB’s I can reference? Thanks!
