I bought my new 2013 Raptor 03/05/2013. It was the only one in stock and was setting outside near the showroom on an outside elevated concrete slab. The truck was dirty from a previous test drive in the rain. While I was inside signing the paperwork, make ready was cleaning it up for delivery.

The purchase process went into the night hours and I took delivery before closing time. As a buddy and I were inspecting the truck at delivery, I noticed what looked to be wax on the front right and left fender at the seam where meets the front doors.

A further inspection revealed paint missing from the fender and not wax. I pointed it ( and a gash in the right rear bumper cover plastic) out to the delivery team. The dealership stated they would take care of it, just bring it back when you have a chance.

I called my salesman and asked when would be a good time to bring it in to fix the problem. He stated to call first and he would set everything up. Upon further inspection it appears to have been damaged (beyond the primer coat)within the exact location of both fenders and a poor repair done. By factory??

Anyone else have the same damage on the and right front fenders mid way down near front door seams?

I have the beige primer coat showing ALL OVER my 2011 Tux Blk, Had it a month before I noticed the 3 foot long, 1/2 inch wide bare primer with clear coat on it. The whole leading edge of the left side passenger door.

Get them to fix it. Do NOT let them paint the whole fender and door. Just mask and spray the edge inward. The dealer tells me on mine, OH we will have to paint this and that to blend and so on. I am sure they tell you that so you will freak and not have the work done. It worked on me, mine is still bare after 2 plus years. HAhaaaaa.

Just hit it with a sharpie. Be done with the dealer. If they are going to replace the rear bumper, tell them HOLD ON NOW. I want an ADD or RPG or or or instead for my inconveineance and it will cost the dealer less. Worth a shot.

BDRAG, Sounds like you've been drinking water from SOUTHERN Texas. I would expect the dealership to repair the truck back to a factory finish. They will either have an autobody shop on site or they may work with an independant shop. It's not going to cost them much to do the work.

I don't think any dealership would agree to trick out your ride with after market upgrades. They would have to pay retail for a new aftermarket bumper. If they only need to replace the plastc, I'm sure that they could swap out the plastic from another F-150 on thier lot. Someone buying a stock F-150 isn't going to notice small nicks, like someone buying a $55k truck would. ymmv.

Water from "SOUTHERN" Texas?? No water here, still in a drought and currently importing our water from Massachusetts :flamingdevil: Not looking for anything other than to make it right without adopting a history of "repainted fenders" ... or devaluation because of extensive paint work. Nonetheless, I am pissed with the quality.

You will be alright. Just compile 3 or 4 or 10 service items at a time so they can get your truck back in 2 or 3 days. My sunroof trashed yesterday, barely go it closed. Pop pop grind pop! So the next trip to the dealer will be for that, the limp **** shifting, the drive line clunk again, limp **** A/C still and front poping when 4 high is applied. Sound like the dawgs are not settin in place easy. Get use to it and find you a good service dept and use them well. It does not bother me when something is wrong or broken as long as I have a warranty and AND the dealer fixes whats broken without any BS.

Actually the Raptor is not even close to the high dollar vehicles I have owned in the past. Today 55k is not even in the upper mid tier lol.

I thought about weather or not to post this but what the hell.

A $55,000 vehicle regardless of what make or modle IS A LOT OF MONEY to 95 % of us out here. As far as A FORD or A PICKUP goes, Thats a lot of money. Sure a GT 40 or Saleen this or that are expensive Fords but we are talking an F 150 here!

Look, when I see an expensive house on the side of a mountain in Colorado I say man those folks have a great set up! I am happy for them. Am I jelious? NO! Do I wish I had a place like that? It would be cool but I have my $1200 cabin in east Texas. I am good with that.

Cars and trucks that cost what we spent for our Raptors IS a lot of money to many of us here on the forum. I know you don't mean to sound snooty but ya kinda did. There are many on here who make a higher payment on their Raptor than most make on a house or rent. These trucks are a pure luxury. PERIOD! So is a CTS or a BMW or Vett or Viper or or or or.

I am glad you have had the chance to have some expensive rides. I am happy for you. I am also happy for me and being able to afford my Raptor because I put $20,000 down on it. Even at that my payment is more than 1/4 of what I bring home from work. Thats not good but I have a wife who until last year was doing real well , not any more though with our lovely economy although she does currently make almost twice what I make . We are fortunate to have our house paid off, The 09 Vett paid off, The 07 CRV paid off, My 2 bikes Paid off and my Raptor ALMOST paid off.

So go easy on us blue or grey collor workers. We love our toys as much as you do, some of our toys are just less expensive. HAhaaaaa. I started out with a 72 Pinto, Graduated up to a 78 Subaru BRAT, then a mustang and and it goes on from there, up and down depending on our money and needs. Sighhhhh. Hope you don't get mad at me. Its just an opinion.

Update

Took the Raptor to my dealer and had them inspect it. The GM and my salesman looked it over and believe the issue can be resolved without a full fender paint. Will drop it off next week to take care of the paint issues and now a leaking back window :(

Good luck. If you just work with the service manager and the GM they should be able to make everything right.
