Toe the line...
Be exactly like everyone else, don't stand out from the crowd.

:yuck:

Except going with a lift kit instead of a proper suspension lift would be following with the crowd, 90% of lifted vehicles have lift kits, having a raptor is about being different, so those of us truly interested in what the raptor is all about would rather stay stock than use a lift kit if we can't get or afford a proper suspension lift

That's not the way I see it. I see it as this forum policing it's members to not try anything new. Lift kits are new to the Raptor community.

What I get sick of if people ******** on other peoples hobbies. Why do you, Sca1pel, care so much what someone else does to there truck? You are so insecure about your own truck that you think his truck somehow reflects on you? Or did he somehow force a lift kit under your truck when you weren't paying attention? (You gotta admit, that would be funny)

There is no one right answer to every problem. We each find solutions that work best for our particular set of circumstances.

At the end of the day it depends on the intended purpose for the truck. If using strictly on the street, that is great. If you want to run in the desert or high speed off road, great. If you want to rock climb, great. Maybe it is playing in the snow, great. Or how about the sand dunes, great. How about some sand drags, great. For me it is the sand dunes, then snow, then sand drags maybe some high speed off road, rocks never again, but have done it. So for me I need more ground clearance especially in the middle. Have been building trucks since before I could drive, with all sorts of suspension systems and lifts. Associate with different monster truck teams and what works over there, does not mean it would work on our trucks, just as an example. So as so many people have said, it is a choice. Sure people have opinions, but they should not force there opinion on others, it is in the end, their choice. You can't say with your opinion that these type of things are a yes or no, or right or wrong. There just might not be a right or wrong, just what may be best for your intended use. But at the end of the day, that is just an opinion.

As red said, we aren't policing, we aren't going down to the houses of people who want to get lift kits and taking away their wallets and forcing them to get something else, we're trying to get people to think about what they're doing, the people who have bought raptors have purchased the best of the best production truck, why skimp out on suspension modifications and get a lift kit when you could get a proper suspension lift and get the same or similar height with enhanced capability

I'm sure there are tons of raptor owners on the forum who have previously owned trucks with lift kits, most likely many of them are saying what most of us do, to not get a lift kit on a raptor, there must be a reason for this

I've said it before and I will say it again. Get over yourselves and quit telling people what they want. Your point of view isn't theirs and it doesn't matter. Put the pros and cons out there and leave it at that.

I think I finally figured it out this morning. Anyone can drive a Raptor off road because it is wide and lower, which is great. But it takes a skilled driver to maneuver a lifted truck off road.
