Fabtech 4 inch lift pros and cons

I have a 2018 with a 4 inch Fabtech lift. I did elect to go with Deaver 4+ rear springs to eliminate any block in the back and the potential axle wrap. While doing so I had the Wimple Stage II kit installed along with a custom tune and Borla exhaust.. It is putting out 600 HP and I like the fact when I tow my boat that the rear doesn't sag. With the work by Karl Krohn at API racing here in Salt Lake City, this thing now flies. No loss of ride or off-road ability as far as I can tell and that is after having the Raptors course here in Utah and well as two trips to Moab. Perhaps things change, but after 6 months of lighting it up I have had zero problems.

Did the installer give you Dyno numbers to back up the claim of "putting out 600 HP"? If not, you should ask for a refund because there are no tunes and/or IC/CAI/exhaust mods that can get you to 600 HP on our trucks. If they upgraded your turbos and did a whole lot of engine mods, you "might" get there, but your reliability goes way down... ;)

This is all very interesting to me for a number of reasons: forums are great to hear about common problems, issues and to have group input when you have a query. With my CTSV the forum is very similar with the exception of the "why would you do that to your car (in the Raptor's case truck)?" People are all about power, performance and looks with complimentary input pretty much exclusively for those with CTSVs both old gen and the last iteration, mine (love it). Beyond that, this Raptor forum has a generally heavy negative commentary for those that dare to make a physical change to the appearance/performance of "THEIR" Raptors primarily in regards to adding a lift (but not exclusively).

I bought my 2019 Raptor lifted by the dealer with a 100k warranty on the lift alone but includes the drivetrain as well. I want it for a specific reason; off road camping with a custom short bed Lance 650 camper piggyback. I have no desire to really use the Baja drive mode as intended but love off road mud and a bit of rock climbing, that will work I'd say a bit better than a stock Raptor.

I first posted pics of my truck when I signed up for this site, no negatives and a gentleman welcomed me kindly. After reading the negative comments here on the lifted Raptors, I think I will concede to the haters and cancel my account (I'm guessing I won't be missed, lol). One last pic for the haters for I have done a lot to prep her for the camper from: 2500lb rear leaf's and performance mods (geez, am a CTSV guy) for the little 3.5L born from the Great Ford GT and of course exhaling with proper exhaust;-)

Truck looks a little tall for the tire size, but not horrible. I am wondering about your 2500 lb rear leafs. How does it ride when empty and who makes the leafs?

Not true. Lots of folks run mid-travel kits, bigger tires, new fenders, bumpers, etc. What gets negativity are mods that decrease the performance of what is a Baja race truck. It's like putting a Prius drivetrain into your CTSV to get better mileage.

But I guess the criticism tolerance is much lower for those Chevy guys...sorry CTSV. Did you catch that CTSV? Latest model, CTSV.

then again I guess autozone stick on side vents are an improvement to those cars bahaha


Just having a little fun, plus there was actual content here and the guy literally asked for advice, it wasn’t unsolicited...

TXRaptor: the tires are 38s and the springs are custom by Black's. The stock Raptor Fox's do a good job when it's empty, no complaints but you can feel it.

Also, I'd imagine putting a Prius drivetrain into a CTSV isn't quite like lifting a Raptor..? Maybe engineering 101 would help with analogies. As you may have read, the Raptor works fine for a camper designed for a short bed 1/2 ton pickup. Additionally, I've driven my friends Super Duty that he does little more than tow with/carry heavy gear. I'd prefer what I bought, really like the look of the Raptor and the way I have it will work just fine. Growing a pair has nothing to do with hiding behind your computer smack talking rather than a face to face. Clown!

holy F, i just watched the whole thing. i have to say there is some serious beer drinking engineering on that kit. that is insane...

Big Raptor, Big Beer drinking and Big people. Yeah doggie!

Ummm can you still run a live valve system on this kit? :D
