Chevy? Those things always scared me, so soft and bouncy. Could not imagine one off-road. The bottoming out would be brutal. And why the hell does a Chevy truck today look like it did in the 1980's?

If we could keep at least JUST this thread on topic, that'd be great. I know we were all derailed by the idiotic "chiefy" post, but as Oxford said, I made this in hopes for it to remain relatively conflict/******** free. That shit gets real old real quick on literally every other thread when referring to Gen 1/Gen 2.

Personally, I think you guys are nutz calling dealers trying to find a deal on a truck that doesn't yet exist. The dealers are ******* sharks and they smell blood. You are showing your hand and creating hype. The more interest they see the more you will pay. If you intend to buy a Raptor sit back and chill until they actually hit the street. There will be plenty available. If a dealer has a waiting list chances are very high that you will not be getting a deal if you are on that list. Yes there are exceptions to that, such as loyal customers, and the extremely rare stand up dealer. Patience will win the best deal.

What he said. The more they hear the less inclined they are to make a deal.

Oh and who is this "Chiefy" *******? Gen 3??!!?!? Get your shit straight before you go off the deep end, you weirdo. SVT Killer? Huh? What the hell?? How many times did your mom drop you on your head? You're a special kind of stupid, aren't you?

Someday the Tin Man will have a heart and the Cowardly Lion will have courage.

It's awesome you have an "SVT Raptor" - you're one of tens of thousands of special people

Won't be worth anything. Until you/they sell it.

You and all the other V8 snobs are gonna be SOL when there aren't any more V8s sold. That day is coming. Fast.

I will NOT EVER sell my gen I.

And therefore it won't be worth anything.

You gave me a good laugh !!

SOL ??? Who cares, I'm old, will not need another truck at my current driving rate/age. I HAVE a V8, and will still HAVE a V8 when I die. I've had a V8 since I was a pup, no plans to change now, I like the sound!!

Value not worth anything unless you sell it. TRUE !! Money in the bank isn't worth anything unless you spend it either. After something is no longer available it suddenly becomes worth more (yes, if you sell it). So far, what I paid for my Raptor has gained value at least 10X what that same amount in the bank would have made (10% in 4 years).

WhatExit seems a little uptight about the Gen 1's. I guess I don't understand all the hate on the Gen 1's and all the love for a truck that hasn't even hit the market yet. Makes ZERO sense to me. Be anxious. I get that. But hating on a previous model that made it all happen? SMH

Yes, I too love my Gen 1 and the sound and the handling and the fact that there are tens of thousands of them doesn't matter to me. They are still a lot more rare than a jeep or a cavalier......and after a few years they are still worth what we paid for them. Be interesting to see of the Gen 2's hold their value like that. I hope they do.....
