Thanx for the info! That's what I was looking for. Just couldn't find it for the life of me...

Ordered mine through AnythingAuto. Saved the $13 DeeZee wanted to charge for shipping. $35.xx total.

Ordered on 4/4 from Anything Auto and got it yesterday! Newer version. Free Shipping!

I'll try to put it on this weekend. I'm going to enjoy it.

Got mine, its the old one but it works fine. I put on the shrink wrap thing and it works well. not worth fighting with people for weeks to get the old one sent over and over.

SHIT!!! I haven't even started drinking yet!!!

I need help. I am attempting to put on this tailgate assist. I have this "NUTSERT" and cannot figure it out for the life of me.

I'm putting in the "NUTSERT" and then placing the 10mm wrench on the inside nut. I then take the Allen wrench and tighten the screw 9 times.

Nothing is happening and it comes out.

Now, I understand how this "SHOULD" work. What is throwing me off is the fact that they have you pre-measure 3/4" prior to doing anything.

What am I missing. I am feeling absolutely stupid right now...

Hold the Allen wrench steady and tighten only the 10mm wrench.

Thank you! I was doing the opposite...

I retract my earlier statement and change it to: "I've had like 15 drinks so far - so I can't figure this out"

Thanx.

It's amazing how well things go together when you know what the hell you're doing!!!

It works perfectly...

Tried to install mine today. They don't give you all the tools to install the product? Sucks cause I'm not home so I don't have any tools...

Use the allen wrench to hold the bolt stationary while turning the wrench to pull the nutsert into the kink position. Don't put the locktite on the ball mount until after you've hooked everything up to make sure the nutsert is tight. Raise and lower the tailgate while looking closely at how the weight of the tailgate is supported by the nutsert/ball mount. I found mine pulling out a bit, so I took the ball mount out and then put the nutsert tool back in and gave it a few more cranks. Repeated the testing process and everything looked solid (no pull).

Then, back out the ball mountl out and locktite it.

An extra five minutes and seems to work great. No foam pieces to deal with either.

My nutsert pulled out a bit, so I tightened it up again with the tool before locktighting everything. Seems pretty solid now. I'll give it a year....

Ok I came to a friend's house to borrow some tools. I'm stuck... How does the nutsert go into the opening by the tailgate pivot point??? Is it supposed go screw in somewhere? I'm so lost...
