got mine installed this morning - I hit it with silicone as well, it comes down sloooooooooooooooooooooooow. better than it hitting me in the hip though.

I have been very critical of the old EZ Down. Well today I installed the new version and it's fantastic. Highly recommend.

I got mine today and I followed the instructions to the "T", but apparently Step 2) says not to tighten more than 9 times so that you to basically avoid stripping the nutset strip. I went 9 Xs and when I went to insert the ball mount screw, it was a "NO GO". I called their 800 number and told Customer Service individual what happened and they said they will have one on its way on Monday. I'm thinking, are you not going to provide me a Return Authorization #, but No they are going to send me another one I guess I will see when I get the new package if I need me to send the other one back. I don't believe I would have been that trustworthy if I were running their operations, but either case I'm just happy they are going to take care of me.
