Im assuming this MasterTech policy is dealer specific. What I don't like about that is if you are unhappy with the service you receive there, that you can't go anywhere else without paying out of pocket. The ESP plan is honored at any Ford dealer in US, Canada, and Mexico. I would personally add light bulb coverage to the ESP plan and if you really risk adverse, you can add the rental reimbursement for $60 a day starting on day 2 of service for up to 10 days. You should still be ahead even after adding all of the additional items.

I was told the Mastertech was good at any dealer, but if you use one other than where you purchased the truck, the deductible increases from $50 to $100. The other point is that it doesn't include bulbs either. It is very similar in coverage to what Flood Ford has in their ESP plan for half the price. I've already written my letter to cancel what i have. I'm a bit embarassed for not researching this in the first place, but I can still save most of what I overspent the first time around.

I'm glad I noticed this thread. I should save over $1000 by switching to the Ford ESP plan from Flood Ford. Thanks all for sharing.

costnsg - glad to see my Ford Flood lead helped. Totally legit and works at every dealership. Get the LED coverage... it's cheap considering how many expensive LED's are on this truck.

Thank you, JetDriver, for the lead and advice. I'm heading in that direction.

Bulb coverage didn't make sense to me. Had to get premium care which was hundreds more than the next level down.

Deductible apples. So unless you have a bulb out that costs more than $50-200 bucks, it won't help you.

I pulled up the Flood Ford site at my dealer and used it as a negotiation point.

Same with me. I told them I was going elsewhere for an esp and he matched the exact price from flood Ford when I pulled it up. I don't remember the exact price from the pricing table but was like 8 years/100k miles for I think like 1700ish with zero deductible. Don't remember exactly from the table on flood Ford website.

Edit: forgot to mention his first offer to me was 1000 dollars more than flood Ford ford for the same coverage.....wtf

Question. What's the point in buying an extended warranty now when the truck comes with a 3yr/36k? Can't you purchase a Flood Ford warranty before your factory warranty expires? Or would it be the exact same price now as it would when you bought it later? Say, a 5yr/60k Floor Ford warranty

The price goes up after 1yr or 12k miles. There is another jump at 2yr. If I recall on mine it was about $100 each jump on the plan I got. 7yrs/125k/$200deduct. I got mine about 10 months afterwards.
