I just got my ‘23 delivered and the first thing I did was cold start it…..rattles. FML I was hopeful they would have fixed the issue by now. 50 miles on the truck and having to call ford service department tomorrow, not super stoked tbh

no such luck. I was talking to someone I trust and who is very knowledgeable about the issue with bad parts and why they still make their way into production. What he said is that they will not scrap them (100% lose) but they will put them into the production line periodically in order to not lose money and also to keep the numbers of defects spread out so they don't have to classify them as a recall. a lot of people won't do anything about it because they either lease or don't keep their vehicles long enough to even worry about it. the manufacturer won't deny fixing them but this way they save money and or spread it out over time rather than all at once, plus they can limit the bad press.

So I just figured out what my rattle was. It was the exhaust...but not the valves. It's rattling right under the transmission where the exhaust is attached above a crossmember. It's so misaligned that the nearest exhaust flange has a bad exhaust leak that wouldn't seal when I tightened the fixture. You can hear/feel the leak when down there (it was blowing in my face)

Really? Did you notice any smells inside the cab?
Mine smells like an old carbureted truck. I thought it was just me like it was some new car hvac smell but no it legit smells like fuel in the cab.

Nope. I didn't know it had the leak but when I got under it and found the rattle, I noticed pulses of air and then saw the soot at the connection. It's the same exhaust pipe that is rattling so I'm sure it's something that is misaligned or bent

sounds like this would hopefully be an easy diagnose at the dealer (especially considering you can point it out) for an exhaust replacement?

If I wasn't afraid of them denying the claim, I would just try to bend it.
