Ever Even Consider a Super Duty?

I'm always looking at and for the next bigger and better thing.

No, I do not use a truck to tow anything heavier than my 900 pound trailer and ATV for a combined weight of maybe 2k pounds when adding bikes and kayaks.

And yes, I love the Raptor. But when I see videos of the Tremor, when I laid eyes on it at SEMA, when I look at the new 6.7 liter diesel f250 with over 1000 torque, it gets my mouth watering like sex on a Sunday.

I don't know what the shortest bed one can get on a f250, but I'm sure it's larger than the Raptor and thus would not fit in my garage which is a bummer but not deal breaker.

No, I can't afford to own both.

So, is anyone here looking at the Tremor as a swap for your Raptor? It seems like you get an awful lot of truck for not a lot more money, and in the case of a regular f250, perhaps a Platinum or even a limited, still not a lot more than mine at least as it was close to fully loaded.

Not saying I'm going to make the move, but am considering it.

What say you? Put it in the comments below. (I know, that's a BS statement at end of some videos just trying to get traffic. )

Yes, the Tremor is quite intriguing especially with that new Powerstroke. 475hp/1050 torque. I just watched a TFL video on youtube where they did a stock dyno run with it. It did ~470hp to the wheels and 973 torque to the wheels. A big increase over the 2019 diesel truck.

If the Tremor shocks make the Superduty ride pretty good, I wouldn't mind having one. That said, I just bought a 2019 Raptor about 5 months ago. If I tried to trade, my wife would kill me. But a King Ranch Tremor diesel with the nice blue exterior and that sweet King Ranch interior is definitely making me think.

I went from a Raptor to a F350 King Ranch gas, then Back to a Raptor, then to a F450 King Ranch DRW, now back in a Raptor.
The ride quality in a Super Duty will shake your teeth loose. IF you need something for towing, then powerstroke all the way.

I've been going back, forth with a 250/Tremor and Raptor everyday, for the last few weeks. It came down to what am I truly using the truck for.. which is getting back, forth to work (via dirt/back roads) and some towing (4k lbs) on the weekends during the winter. I've owned my current Rap since July. Last week I finally loaded up my trailer and took it out for a test run. I was surprisingly impressed with the results. In terms of towing- its no Super Duty, but it an absolute improvement to the 2.7 I was running the last couple years. It got out of its own way, that's for sure. Braking was semi impressive too. I reserve the right to change my mind at some point, but for now its looking like the Raptor will be plenty sufficient for my needs, provided I'm okay with using my snowblower all season..

yeah... if you’re a numbers guy, for sure that will be attractive, but the SD are heavier, not geared like the Rap, and they’re diesels, which are a little... maintenance intensive.

I’m just not sure it would do more for me than the Rap.

I had a 2017 F250. Tuned, deleted all the diesel emissions, CAI, lifted 6 inches with 35's. Like you, I was not really using it for towing. Just carrying surfboards, sports equipments, coolers, tent, etc. I freakin loved that thing but the Raptor is better for a couple of reasons. First of all, the steering is a lot stiffer on the F250. I felt like I needed 2 hands on the wheel - the Raptor drives smooth like a car. 2nd, the bed length is prohibitive for parking if you live in a metroplitan area like i do. Some places consider it a work vehicle and refuse to even allow you to park/valet. On a positive, the extra bed length comes in handy sometimes and smoking some ******* who cuts you off or drives slow in the left lane is hilarious! And the sound of the diesel engine is rad!

I’ve always liked the F250 and would really like the diesel. I don’t really need it to haul anything except a$$.

There was a couple on the lot next to the Raptors. I’m terms of looks, the Raptor wins. The F250 is taller and not as wide/squat.

Tremor looks interesting. I’ll keep my Gen 2 cuz I’m really enjoying it. I would mind to add a Gen 1 Raptor but that’s another conversation...

I'm on my 3rd superduty all diesels. I currently have an 18 super crew raptor and a 19 single cab powerstroke that's already got a lot of parts and tunes. Both are fun, the raptor is more fun for sure but this gen raptor will lose most of its value and luster once the next greatest thing or tech comes out. While the raptor is more fun for now it will be dated in 2 years. A nice diesel isnt losing much value over 20 years especially if you can get it deleted before all the parts disappear.


It's getting a full carli pin top 2.5 inch and method rims after it gets back from ceramic and paint correctiong

I won't argue the ride quality of a normal super duty, but doesn't the tremor also have an offroad suspension? It's not standard super duty, but it's not raptor.... somewhere in the middle I bet and I would also bet that it rides pretty decent.

Not sure about the shaking your teeth loose with respect to how a Super Duty rides. My '08 doesn't ride all that rough for an F-350 even with a lift and 37's.

The SFA does have an effect but it isn't that bad and at least it still has one.
