Personally I build an F150 without all the extra weight of the raptor frame. You can bolt enough parts on that will make it look exactly like a raptor but drop 500 pounds. But I live out east if I lived out west and wanted to run in the desert with 700 hp I want the gen 2 Raptor frame

I would just go with a regular 5.0 f150 for 30k and put a raptor body kit on it if you are planing to upgrade the whole suspension like link or long travel. This makes more sense to me. Once somethings goes wrong with the v8 raptor in future its going to be a pain in the butt to fix drive train wise.

In the video...with 300 more HP and 200 mor TQ the truck only beat the stock Raptor by one truck length. Seems like little real world gain especially given it's intended use. And for that you give up the warranty, the resale value and your still a poser. True that you're a poser with a supercharged Coyote which is cool but hardly seems worth it...IMHO.

Are you really comparing a $35k engine swap to a $350k car? Why?

Here I'll do apples and oranges, too...

Sigh.

Nope, I'm not.

What I said was "if I had money to **** away on going fast"... I didn't set a budget, but if considering budget, doing a 35k swap on a 70K truck, I can think of a half a dozen things that would run circles around that 'upgrade'.

Motor swap on a gen 2 is about the dumbest thing I can thing of doing performance wise. You need to put a SC on a gen 1, if you took that same money and applied it to the already boosted Gen 2 you will net the same result.

It takes a lot more than $10k to get a Gen 2 up to that power level. You need a fully built motor to get there. And if V6s are your thing, that is a viable option. But there's other reasons to go with a Coyote swap and based on the number of them I've seen and the number of take out motors/transmissions I've seen for sale a lot of people agree that is the better option.
Lol...that doesn't mean it's a better option it means ppl have always felt that the Gen 2 should've had a V8 for its aggressive sound to match the looks of the truck. You confuse preference with better option. And you are wrong it will not take more than 10k to reach that level.

A coyote motor is a damn good motor and add a SC it and wow...well you know what the mustang are running with them but for 95% of raptor owners needs putting 10k into the motor will be more than enough for their needs. If you can swap a V8 into it for the same amount it doesn't make it a " better" option ,it means you have the money to do what you " prefer" when it make this gen 2 sound like you felt it should have from the factory .

As I said there are many reasons why people feel it is a better option, power delivery and throttle modulation being two of them.

Now show me a 700 hp Gen 2 with $10k in it, my friend.

"LOL"
The keyword in your post is " feel" ....... you just said why people feel it is a better option meaning preference like I have said in my post.

I also don't believe that you're getting a an F-150 V8 or coyote motor plus the trans plus the supercharger plus the mounts the wiring programming and install reliably for 10k . Not saying it can't be done I just haven't looked into it because I just feel it's a stupid thing to do when you have a very capable platform in the EcoBoost.

You’ll never be able to get through to him that a EcoBoost is a great engine with a ton of power potential. If it’s not a V8, he badmouths it. He’s known for confusing his opinions with the facts and trolling the Gen 2 forums.

I agree with you, an engine swap is a complete waste of money and devalues the vehicle. Never mind the other glitches that come with swapping an engine on any modern vehicle as well as the massive weight increase over the front axle, which is detrimental to the capability of the truck off-road. We have an extremely capable engine with factory twin turbos; if you even put half that $35k into an EcoBoost you’d have more power than you could ever use.

So you think the video is fake?

Like, you actually think a vehicle that has 2/3 more horsepower is only 1 car length faster?

Please explain.
I'm going to give you a little bit of credit and assume that sent your end of these high horsepower builds you're aware of who Hennessy is.....

I'm going to assume that that's not the only Hennessy video that you've seen and you realizing his other videos he will downplay the stock cars to make his build seem far superior.

I'm going to assume that you have more common sense then to just take his word and his videos as the truth. Am I giving you more credit than I should?
