There is really nothing that can be done to change that buzzy V6 tone. Most of the modded ecoboost trucks I've seen/heard have had a stock catback to keep the exhaust quiet. That way all you hear is the turbos (which admittedly sound a lot cooler than the exhaust).

Despite all the hype about it being a new engine, it is the same basic engine design (60 degree V6 with the same firing order), so I really don't see the Raptor sounding any better. So, if you were disappointed in the Roush, you'll be disappointed in the new Raptor.

If I get the urge to build a new truck I'll be starting with a 5.0 Platinum.

Sure there's something that can be done about the sound. Buy larger, more sound dampening mufflers.

I'll take that sound all day! Can't say that I even notice the sound of my 2014 over the ******* fans that are like a ******** plane engine. Stupidest thing I have ever heard!!!

I like the sound of the new Raptor, it's deeper and less obnoxious than the Roush Ecoboost I listened to on Youtube. IMO the baritone of a crossplane V8 is awesome but trucks don't always have to sound like that, especially if you get the efficiency and power benefits to go with it.

I was watching the videos on the new Can Am Maverick X3 (which is ******* awesome if you haven't checked it out: Maverick X3 X rs | Can-Am ) and the flat plane inline 3 cylinder in there sounds a lot like the V6 Raptor. It's going to be a common sound in the desert.
