The back is just a blackened version of the '11. At least, that's what I see

Check your eyes. It's a 12 wheel that's black. Probably exactly what a spare 2012 looks like.

Those are 2012 wheels for sure. I Might just have to take a mid-week trip to Answer Borrego and see what I can find!!

Haha sounds like a perfect excuse to go play.

I too was hoping that they would be killing the thing off after the 2012 model, if not they will lose their appeal and value.

I would hope that they would opt for the ecoboost or 5.8L before they throw the 5.0L in it.

Maybe they are hiding the headlights because it could finally be getting HID's and LED signals. The LED's are one of the additions to the 2013 SVT GT500 so maybe the Raptor will join it.

Killing it off just limits the aftermarket, limits the size of the club, and makes it less fun. They made the Gen 2 L's for 6 years and they're still rare compared to regular f150's and still hold their value better than regular f150's.

I'd imagine they're going to go with the 5.8L engine as well and eventually send the 6.2 to the glue factory. I would have thought they'd just do a N/A 5.8 in the trucks, but if it's a "detuned" s/c'ed 5.8 I'd be all over that one!

Headlights, they're way over due for adding HID's!

I'm almost discouraged enough after not getting a VIN since august still, and now seeing this to cancel my order and wait, but without knowing the full details of the 2013 yet, I'll just have to hold out and possibly trade in come 2013's.

Okay, I retract my first statement. Those rear wheels look different from a few other angles that I've found.

Doesn't look like the 2012's either. I really like those though...

Without a doubt those rear ones are all black 2012 wheels. And now seeing that, I'm REALLY digging how that looks!

Not sure how the Ecoboost would be in slow off roading with the slight turbo lag, seems like you would have to give more throttle and then the turbo's would kick in. I like the 2012 wheels blacked out, they look bigger than 16" in the pic compared to the '10 '11 style.

According to InsideLine looks like it may just be a new front end as all F150's are masked in the front.

Spy Photos: Ford F-150 and Raptor Get Updates for 2013

Go test drive an ecoboost. You'd be really surprised. With the small size turbos and being twins they spool very fast. And with such a low 1st gear in the 6 speed trans, there really is no lag off the line.

Oh and all Raptor wheels are 17", so maybe thats why they look bigger than 16's, because they all are LOL

As for the front end, it's a 2013 wide update it seems. You can see more of the grille on this one, so the 2013 Raptor may be getting a mildly updated grille as well

Here's the regular f150 facelift for 2013 with the grille and lights covered. I'd imagine the Raptor will get a similar update to the shape of the grille, just raptor-ized, and a similar update to the headlights ,just blacked out.

Randy, hope you see this and keep me posted on any word for 2013 Raptors! If its a 3.5 EB I'll probably just keep my '12 6.2. If it's a n/a 5.8 I'll probably just keep my '12 6.2. But if it's a s/c 5.8, sign me up NOW for a trade in of my '12 6.2!!!

*edit* I'll be willing to bet $10 bucks that the 2012 spare tire is all black like that photo. The fronts are the 2010-2011 spares with teh black spokes. We saw one photo of the underside of a '12 that shows the spare has black overspray, but no confirmation if it's just the spokes or the full rim. I'm going to bet now that it's the full rim and this truck is rocking 4 spares, two 2010-2011's up front and two 2012's out back.

Oops, not sure why I thought they were 16", I don't think they will get rid of the 6.2 as it's only the 3rd model year for the that engine. I did drive an Ecoboost and liked it but there was a very slight lag off the line, not much though.

I wouldn't put it past them to ditch the 6.2 even though it's only a couple years in. They'd probably keep it for the superduties.

Eyes checked! I'm blind... FML

On a serious note, if that's seriously what the 2012's spare looks like then who wants to do a full set swap with me? I assume that I'll need at least 3 people to do this and use a "normal" one as the spare if needed.

So, based on the F-150 "spy pics" and the Raptor pics, it looks to me like Ford could be standardizing (i.e. saving money) the hoods of the trucks.

How did you get to this conclusion? You should read my first post on the previous page.

Yeah I think its because of HIDs in the headlights. The rest of the grill looks pretty much the same but the headlights are hard to tell the guts of them.

Wouldn't the intercooler be visible if these were 3.5TT powered? Maybe the bottom grill pieces were removed to get a little air to the radiators. The Tyvek over the grills is blocking the main air flow.
