Still an issue with the 2018s. I did the trailer light checker disable for $5, but I may do the trailer light wire connector mod discussed herein next.

It's very easy to turn off with Forscan. I advise going that route as well as adding some other nice features hidden in the Ford system.

I wanted to have this shut off also, but my salesman told me it could void the warranty and they couldn't take the responsibility if something happened. Apparently, all of these changes are stored on the computer.

People drive this truck without putting it in Sport mode? It's ingrained into my muscle memory at this point. Hit the ignition switch, unfold mirrors, arrow up to S mode, drive away. I don't even think about it.

I wish there was a way for it to just default to OFF but also still have the option to turn the feature back on for very long lights by hitting the button on the dash.

It takes about 2 seconds to plug back in the connector if you want auto stop back on.

But I agree a switch would be better . But maybe there's some fuel mileage thing that prevents that from happening

Yea I just did the trailer light unplug a few weeks back. Couldn't stand the auto start/stop and I was getting tired of having the truck always in sports mode.

Works fine as I don't tow anything anyways and I get an extra 1mpg now. If I ever tow anything takes 2 seconds to plug back in.

I pulled the switch out of the dash and put a jumper wire between the hot and the neutral so it defaults to off on start up. It stays off all the time now; however with this method you can't turn it on, though I don't know why you would want to.
