I uses a fan that I got from Amazon that's battery operated ( 4 -"c" battery) and hang it right inside the rear slider with the slider opened, than I just opened the rest of the windows around the truck about a 1/4 way down just to keep the air flow moving for my dog on a hot day ( but he never be inside longer then 10-15 min. ). But then again, it don"t get that hot around the San Francisco Bay Area anyway. If it's too hot he won't be in the truck by himself at all. The battery will last a long time before I have to replace it and I alway have spare in the truck.

You say your amp heats up when idling, but not driving. What am I missing here? Are you running AC all the time? Or do you vent a window for flow?
I was wondering the same thing...

I had been sitting in the truck with the A/C on for about 30 minutes idling and the music on a low level. It was around 95 and very humid. When I got rolling I turned it up to around 13 and about 5 minutes later the amp went into thermal shut down. When I checked it, it was really hot. So I thought I would stick a little fan in the back corner by the amps.

I have a 12 volt fan on the way to try, if I don't like that I will have to try one of the USB fans. I like that the USB fans are made for high hours. Thanks a lot for everyone's input.

People are fu**ing retarded! I was looking at fans on Amazon. This is a real question that was asked.

Question:
If I submerge these two fans in the water but keep the switch to adjust the speed and the power source above the water will the fans work?
Answer:
Hello there,

These fan units are not waterproof or water resistant. It is never recommended to expose these fans to water or condensation. Please, do not submerge your fan units in water.

Kind regards, Andrew Avila
Maybe they wanted to make a mini submarine?

so, be careful with 12v ... accessories... purchased from Amazon.
My wife comes home one day, and in typical passive aggressive wife language intimates that it would be great if she had a working plug adapter for her satellite and phone at the same time.

what is wrong with the current one, says I...

I had to unplug it because it was burning.

On fire burning?

kind of, it smelled really bad, there was smoke, it was really hot.

Got it. You know, it’s a shame we don’t have access to a universal repository of information and shopping options to choose from...

insert puzzled wife look here.

you know... the INTERNET.

insert angry wife look here.

anyway, just be cautious about some of the 12v accessories with sketchy manufacture history and low cost.

Suuure, it's always a good time to be Mr. Funny Pants until the wife isn't amused!!!!

I've only had one personal vehicle fire, that was plenty to make me extra careful forever. Had a small carb base gasket leak I didn't know about, that pissed gas all over the top of a hot intake manifold on a 440 Plymouth engine while I ran into a bank. I came out and started it and heard a "****" sound. I was 18 and had a hell of a mess to fix it. At least back than you didn't have much in the way of wiring to replace. Hell, it didn't even have A/C back then.
