Easiest way to add another receptacle for the power inverter?

Ok, I'll bite. Why do you need a fan under the seat?

To blow my farts away from me, of course!














I'm having a little trouble with one of my amps getting hot when the truck is idling for a while and not moving.

I found this. Post 103 shows how the plug on the Inverter is wired. You could add your own plug at the inverter.

I'm probably going to try a similar fan like that and see how it works. My buddy fixes computers and said he has several he can give me to try.

How did you power it at your rack? Wire in a 12 volt to USB converter?

Mine is in my home audio rack, they make a nice controller that runs off 110V. The 12v fans @CoronaRaptor posted are an easier solution. I would look into some sort of a controller, when the fans are on high there is some noise, I prefer them at medium or low so they stay silent.

You say your amp heats up when idling, but not driving. What am I missing here? Are you running AC all the time? Or do you vent a window for flow?

OldFart, I had used a USB powered fan on the amps in my Jeep because they got so hot with the hardtop on. Like Bronco AZ stated there are some serious USB powered Gamer fans available.
I have a couple of 12v to 110 inverters but you would have to hard wire them in. The Generac is 400 watts

I was told that if I added another 110 outlet on my Jeep my warranty on the WHOLE electrical system would be void, not sure if that was just a scare tacit or truth. The only reason I could see was that the possibility of using both at the same time.Maybe FordTechOne could shine some light on this.

Check out some of the fans on the Over Road truck sites, we had a fan mounted in or old Diamond Reo Wrecker, and it blew better then my first girlfriend

You may find a USB fan is an easy option. If you search on Amazon you'll find a large selection, and one of them may match your size/shape/form factor requirements. Some of these fans use computer fans, which are rated for thousands of hours of use and so should be fairly reliable. Some of them have shapes that look as if they'd velcro nicely under a seat.
