Front tire popping when on 4x4

So here goes my question... I just came back from tKing the truck out to a little sand when some kids ask me if I could help them pull out a bronco that already has the frame on the sand and all four wheels spinning w no traction at all. I figure I could try to help well I put the truck on 4 low and tried pulling them out I almost got stuck myself cuz the sand was really loose but when I was trying to get out myself I kept trying to turn my front wheels but they felt really stiff I figured it was cuz the sand was half way up the wheel. Once I got out of the sand my front end started making a popping noise when I turned the wheel. It doesn't make it when going straight but once there's a bump or I have to turn there's a popping and scratching noise from my front driverside tire I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone and if the warranty will cover it? Thanks in advance!

IWE or a trashed CV joint/axle. Both should be covered under warranty.

Thanks guys I'm still trying to figure out what it is but I'll be heading to the dealership tomorrow morning.

Good idea, Chav2012. What's the model year/mileage of your truck? Come back and post what happens at the dealership.

It's a 2012 SCREW Loaded 33,500 Miles. I just came back from the dealership they are backed up on suspension work so I'm going to drop it off Friday. I'm not going to be here all next week so they should have plenty of time to work on the truck. It only makes the noise on 4x4 and when I turn all the way left so they said it's safe to drive until then. I'll keep everyone posted, thanks!
