I don't know if this is what Ice did but just pour some paint on it and try wiping it all off. the crevices should stay. If it wipes clean let it dry and get the sand paper out and go to town on it and then polish the crap out of it.

I actually had my vinyl guy make the color inlay then placed a clear over the top of it...
