I average mid 19s on a 5 mile stretch of pretty flat highways here in Va Beach.

Mods - tonneau cover (who knows it if really does anything)

5 star 87 performance tune and intake.

Also, the other night I went out and did some competing against an ecoboost f150 supercrew. We drove the same routes at the exact same speed (60mph). I got 18 mpg avg going one way and 19 the other way. He averaged 21 and 22. The raptor is holding its own! Not bad for 35s, 4:10s and it being an aerodynamic brick epa rated at 14 on the highway.

Heck, I don't get that much even when I'm going downhill with a tailwind with the engine off.
Have you verified by manually calculating? That's a hell of a tune.:Whoa:

Look at his bio. He is only 23. He cant add it up with all that new math. It should be 1.9 not 19! HAhahhaaaaaa.

Not to turn this into ANOTHER GAS MILAGE THREAD but, anyone else see a drop in mileage with the summer blend fuels? I see 10% decrease no matter how I drive.

SCelebs,

It sounds as if you bought these two:

10561.jpg

$395 Stage 2

or

standalone.jpg

$295 Stage 1

Which intake did you get, stage 1 or 2?

Also, I'm guessing you bought one of these:

X3FlashDevice.jpg

$429 X3 Power Flash Device Ford 6.2L

-----------------------

You've got your X3 programmed for 87, I'm guessing it comes that way from the 5 Star people because they sell the 93 tune for a fee of $75 bucks via email...

Is all this correct?

So what happens if you run 93 or 91 with your 87 tune, I assume its okay?

Even though you're getting great gas mileage... did you notice any performance gains with the intake and tune? I don't care about dyno numbers, just if you can feel any "boost" in the seat.

So, for about $750 bucks or so, man that set-up will pay for itself the first year on gas savings alone :)

BDRAG, I'm in Texas (Houston/Katy) and have noticed the same issue. Not quite 10% but, I went from averaging 13.3 solidly to 12.5 at best.

Higher ethenol blend during the summer in the gas. I am still puttering around at 14.5mpg average with my performance tune 93 octane. By puttering I mean I do 90 down the interstate and floor it to the speed limit as much as possible.

BDRAG i also lost mileage. I went from 12.5 down to about 11. Also got a super 40 weld in and turndowns. Which might have something to do with it. I have got to change that thing out. Not happy with the sound when i get on it.

Sorry about the thread jack. Glad to see you are getting much better mileage.
