So someone did try a install front then. Wonder if he has done a run in it yet to confirm clearing?

I am looking into it. Only advantage of doing the valves is honestly very minor. No performance advantage, and I said on other forum, unless you keep the shocks a lonnnggg time, cost and effort not worth it

I thought that we were investing in the oem shocks to keep them a long time. Wouldn't it good to be able to check/top of without removing the shock. Or have you found a way to do that with the needle? Have you found many of the rebuilds to be at full press when you get to them?

For the viewing public. This is the only way I get to talk to him without all his beemer buddies talking beemer stuff!

Hey now.

The needle process to charge the fronts does not need to have the shock removed I am pretty sure. At full droop the port is pretty accessible. But I will double check this weekend when I work on Petes shocks.

Rear are accessible as is.

It comes down to what you want. Cost and effort for needle stock setup is cheaper than this as well as there is no major advantage. So do you want vanilla or rocky road ice cream is the difference.

Have you not had problems with the needle valves leaking? 2 of mine leaked after stabbing them for 20 minutes trying to get the needle to go in straight, then the weight of the fill chuck bending the damn needle.

I have messed up 4 grommets out of say 40 shocks. 1 in 10 rate. I also ordered a bunch of new rubber pellets to have on hand just in case. They are $1 so its super cheap.

You do have to be dead center when you do install the needle, any resistance stop and try again. If you don't you bend the needle tip and that is what F's up the grommet. Been there and learned.

Well then. That would be more economical.
