Can anyone post pics of splicing power inverter wire to power amp?

Can someone post pics of how they tapped into the 10 gauge power wire for the inverter? Helpful if you have part name used to splice as well.

The inverter is under the passenger seat, under a plastic cover. The power wire is --obvious--. The 10 gauge is much bigger than any other wire there. If you’re just tapping, be doggone careful not to ground out!

I can’t promise I’ll be able to get a pic, but it’s seriously so easy, a trained monkey could do it.

I used these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CMC5DII/?tag=fordraptorforum-20 Very easy to use and good in tight places. Lockitt POSI-TAP Assortment pack wire connectors 10-22 awg.

I will post a pic when I can but the wire going into the side of the inverter under the passenger side rear seat is obvious. It is the largest wire there.

Also for those that are going to do this the rear door adapters are not the correct ones (I believe). I think that the correct number is Metra 82-5605.

I will check this out as soon as I receive them.

Overall this change is a very good upgrade many thanks to GUY.

Hi
I verified that the speaker adapter listed in my prior post is the correct one. See the pic below. Also as promised here is a pic of the splice at the inverter.

The correct Metra adapter for the speakers listed is 82-5605. See my post on page 8

Crutchfield doesn't carry it.

It is also a Pioneer A series found on Amazon. Not expensive... it helped a lot... the stock center is 8 ohm for some reason. Sony I guess wanted it not as loud as the rest... not sure why.... but at 4ohms with two way it really wakes up the front stage. I get ALOT of midrange voice and snare pop from it.

I followed 3 YouTube videos for an F150. A guy shows you how to get into the doors and dash. The A-Pillars were self-explanatory.

Thats it. I don't think I forgot anything. Hope it helps.

I agree with Smurf...

Even with the amp... the bass is not in excess. I'm using a 200 watt RMS 4 ohm setup. He's using a 300 watt 2 ohm setup. The kicker bottoms out at 30hz. The pioneer bottoms out at 20hz. Probably not a lot of difference.... I'm guessing you trade a little volume for a little depth.

Thanks for the posts guys. It took me long time to melt the box so the sub would fit in the enclosure, so I didn't get to the amp tonight. I'll try that tomorrow. My question is how to wire the speaker terminals on the sub from the amp. The factory setup has 4 leads (2positive, 2 negative) connected to both coils, but the amp only has 1positive and 1negative output, so would I connect one to each side of the speaker to have 1positive in one coil and the negative hooked up to the other coil? I hope my question makes sense, if not let me know and I'll try to clarify. Thanks in advance!

If you are talking about the new sub speaker. than one positive wire from the amp goes to a positive on the speaker and the negative goes to a negative on the other side of the speaker, then the positive on the speaker goes to the negative on the other side of the speaker. Look at the wiring on the instructions that came with the speaker and look at 4 ohm diagram.
Hope that helps.

Thanks rogerdata! The factory amp wired to the replacement Pioneer sub isn't giving much bass, so I'm hoping that adding the Kenwood amp makes a difference. Maybe the way the factory wiring is set to the aftermarket Pioneer sub makes a difference as well.

I bought the same Posi-Tap connectors that you did but I'm going to try to run the power from the battery since I have an 8 gauge amp kit already. We will see how that goes!
