Good Lord Toadsmasher, your dealership is expensive. My last oil change (a month ago) was ~$50. I call to make an appointment and request that my regular (Senior Tech) does the oil change for me. This makes me realize how good my dealership is.
I hear ya. The $50 “The Works” oil and rotation doesn’t apply to the R.

11.5 qt full synthetic. It’s not much cheaper on Amazon either, I think $155. Filter is $35-40. So you’re not really coming out ahead much by doing it yourself.

Just be ready when the drain plug comes out. It will initially shoot all the way to the tire if you don't have the proper catch pan.
The filter needs one of the wrenches that accepts a rachet extension to loosen. Also, make sure you have your drain pan under the filter drain CAVITY, not the lip drain in the front underneath the filter when the seal is broken.

Paid $1800 for a 10 year maintenance plan. Filters are $10, oil is $12 a quart. Made my money back on oil changes alone

And I saw filter from the top

I am guessing this plate is for accessing it from the bottom but you can reach from the top too.

Well, it's a PITA from the bottom (laying on the ground). But removing the plate for the oil filter is "supposed to" expose the mouth of the drip pan under the filter. However, the oil NEVER flows out that way. It always runs out the back side and through a hole in the big skid plate. I swear that oil drip pan was designed by a first year engineering intern at Dearborn.

I paid for the Perineum maint Plan through my dealership everything is covered. Really didn't want to deal with scheduled maint or any problems that may arise with the truck.

Everything windshield engine supercharger all electronics complete interior pretty much bumper to bumper for 9 years. Was not cheap but I have complete peace of mind if anything goes wrong it's covered. I am also taking normal wear and tear items too. My days of modding vehicles are over just want to drive it and enjoy it.

Haha yeah, I was giving you a hard time because you said you bought a perineum plan. I assume you meant PREMIUM, but got a chuckle that it maybe auto-corrected to PERINEUM.
